⛽ Does premium gas make your car run better?

If your vehicle is designed to run on regular 87-octane gas, filling it with premium usually isn't going to magically give you more horsepower, better gas mileage, or make your engine run better.

Higher octane doesn't mean “better” gas. It simply means the fuel has a greater resistance to engine knock or detonation.

👉 If your owner's manual says regular unleaded, regular is what the engine was designed to use.

👉 If the manufacturer requires premium, use premium.

👉 If premium is recommended, the engine may perform best on it, but check your owner's manual for the manufacturer's guidance.

So if your car calls for regular and you've been buying premium because you thought you were giving it a special treat…

Save the extra money. Your car doesn't know it's getting the fancy stuff. 😂
