As many fans know, weather can change plans quickly. On June 12, 2026, the Midwest Racing Association (MRA) announced that its series event scheduled for June 13 at I-35 Speedway had been canceled. I-35 Speedway has already announced a weather contingency plan for this weekend. As of now, the track still intends to race on Saturday evening, June 13, weather permitting, with USRA Modifieds, USRA Stock Cars, USRA B Mods, USRA Hobby Stock, USRA Tuners, E Mods, and Beginner Tuners in action. Regular weekly admission prices will apply: $15 for grandstand seating and $12 for seniors and military, 18 years young and younger are free.

With the MRA Series no longer part of the program, Saturday night remains I-35 Speedway’s preferred race date for the weekend.

Weather Contingency Plan: If rain or track moisture affects racing on June 13, a regular weekly show featuring all USRA classes, E Mods, and Beginner Tuners will be held on Sunday, June 14. Hot laps will begin at 4:00 P.M., racing starts at 4:30 P.M., and the pit gate and grandstand gates will open two hours before race time.

For updates, please follow our page, visit www.i-35speedway.net, or call the track at (660) 749-5317. We look forward to seeing everyone this weekend.

I-35 Speedway is scheduled to race on Saturday, June 13, 2026, featuring the Schaeffer's Racing Oil, Triple Cross Trucking, Kingdom Truss, and CR Seeds and Service MRA Sprint Car Series along with the regular weekly show. However, forecasters are predicting unsettled weather for the third straight Saturday, so we will not know until race day how conditions may affect the event. At this time, Saturday, June 13, remains our preferred date for racing this weekend.

If racing is canceled on Saturday, June 13, the backup plan is to race on Sunday, June 14, 2026, weather and track conditions permitting. Sunday’s event would be a regular weekly show featuring all USRA classes, E Mods, and Beginner Tuners. The MRA Sprint Car Series will not be included in the contingency plan. If racing moves to Sunday, hot laps will begin at 4:00 P.M., racing will start at 4:30 P.M., and the pit gates and grandstands will open two hours before race time. Regular weekly admission prices would apply: $15 for grandstand seating and $12 for seniors and military.

Mike Tanner Memorial June 27, 2026 Update #2

At I-35 Speedway, our goal is not to exclude competitors, but to keep the cars competitive so everyone can race and enjoy the event. Since last week’s publication of the Mike Tanner Memorial rules, we have received several calls requesting clarification. We welcome occasional drivers who are not racing for points but want to visit another track or compete in a special event such as the Mike Tanner Memorial.

Starting June 13, cars wishing to compete in the Mike Tanner Memorial are welcome to race, but temporary registration must be completed. Because we are transitioning among Hobby Stock, Factory Stock, and Pure Stock rules, the following rules will apply to the Mike Tanner Memorial race. Please also note the clarifications below.

USRA Hobby Stocks must follow the USRA rule book.
IMCA Hobby Stocks must follow the IMCA rule book.
Lakeside Pure Stocks must follow their rules, except they may change gears in place of a gear-rule restriction if they use a 6200 RPM chip.

The following rules also apply to all competitors:
Weight: 2950
Cars using a Holley 4412 carburetor must use an unaltered Wehrs adapter/restrictor plate, part number WM206100R1500. The distance between the bottom of the carburetor and the top of the intake manifold may not exceed 1.25 inches.
If adjustable dual brake master cylinders are used, they must be set in the center position and disabled so they cannot be adjusted from inside the race car.
If your track or series rules allow holes in the hood, they will also be allowed during June 2026.
No spoilers.
Transition rules are posted on the I-35 Speedway website under Hobby Stock rules.
No mixing and matching of rules. For example, IMCA cars may not run American Racer tires. Maximum tire width is 8.5 inches, maximum wheel width is 8 inches, and all tires must durometer at no less than 50.
For any other Hobby Stock, Factory Stock, or Street Stock questions, please call J. D. Green at 816-668-8609.

This is a USRA race so a USRA license will be required and will be a points race, temp USRA license are available at track. Twenty-four car field, Top 12 in passing points from heats automatically transfer, Top 8 will redraw starting position for feature. Next 10 qualifiers will come out of last chance races. Two provisionals for those highest in I-35 Speedway track points for the season that do not qualify.

For payout information for this race please visit Crystal Bears Tanner Stockton page 2026 “Finish Strong” Mike Tanner Memorial Race.
