As many of our friends and followers have seen or heard, Mike Denney—our shop foreman—is stepping out on his own and will be launching Sketchy Performance & Fab full time on January 1, 2026.
I have no doubt he will do well. We are parting ways the way men should—with respect, gratitude, and appreciation for one another.
Mike and I have walked through some low points together, and we’ve also stood on top of the mountain. He’s the kind of guy you can call when you truly need help, and he will come—no questions asked. In the seven years we worked side by side, we never once had words. Not one time. That’s the truth.
Thank you for taking a chance back in 2017—first part-time, then going all in. Thank you for bringing your talent, work ethic, and belief to The Scoutman. You didn’t just show up—you invested in me, in the vision, and in what this place could become. I am deeply grateful for your support, your knowledge, and the determination you poured into helping build this business into what it is today.
As you step into your own journey as an entrepreneur, I want to pass along words you once shared with me—words that carried me through uncertain seasons and still ring true today:
“What you are doing IS the American dream! It’s not for the weak, that’s for sure. You bust your butt and pour everything you have into manifesting your dream. That is very gutsy and admirable. I don’t know that it will ever be easy, but I do know if you keep pushing and growing like I’ve seen you do the past couple years, success is inevitable. A lot of people see the achievements and growth and have a ton of faith in you. Keep on doing your thing and enjoy what you have created and why you chose to do so.”
We wish you and your family nothing but the best as you chase your dreams. I have no doubt that the same grit, integrity, and heart you brought to The Scoutman will continue to carry you forward.
