‼️ Crappy General Contractor ALERT ‼️‼️
Against my better judgment, I signed this contract and gave a $2k retainer with a verbal agreement of price. BRANDON STEWART a general contractor who owns Eastern Construction group (also called Eastern Home and property online?) met with me in October last year to add onto my garage at the house. I was very honest and upfront with Brandon about where i needed to be price wise and my budget. I talked to him over 15 times where he assured me the numbers are good and in my wheelhouse. For four months he strung me along with just enough excuses and good talking untill the day before he is about to get a crew to finally start and sends me an email for the first time with the numbers for me to review and green light. It’s nearly $20k more than any number he had verbally given me. I can’t afford that and I’m pi**ed bc I would have never signed the contract had he been honest (or known) the numbers up front. Claims he didn’t know exact prices untill plans got made (plans were made way back in early December) which I totally understand, but how is this fair that he didn’t know the numbers he was verbally telling me!? The contract also mentions they would start 14-21 days from contract being signed! He just dropped the price bomb on me last week when he claims he was finally going to start (Nearly three months after i signed contract!!) I get I signed…but am I out of line for being pi**ed off and requesting half the money back? $2k is a lot of money to me and especially when I feel I got baited out of it…I paid for all the surveys, plans, and engineered drawings, he literally did not buy a single thing. BRANDON STUWART be aware and never ever use him, I should have googled him first too, not a single review to be found just two crappy websites!
