Collision repair businesses will need 73,354 new entrant technicians between 2025 and 2029, according to the TechForce Foundation.
The sector also recorded a 60.7% turnover rate, the highest among the 10 technician-dependent sectors examined.
The broader report says employers across those sectors will need 241,842 new technicians each year through 2029.
Technical schools and community colleges produced 101,743 graduates last year.
That gap means shops are dealing with both a shortage of new technicians and a problem keeping the people they already have.
