🎓 L2 GRAPHICS SUNDAY SCHOOL — CHAPTER 12
THE INSTALL MAKES THE DESIGN.
Last chapter, we covered where great graphics begin: a conversation. This week, Lorna’s putting that plan onto a customer’s work truck. 👊
That paper covering the lettering? It’s transfer tape. It holds the separate vinyl letters and shapes in position while the design is applied. Once peeled away, the graphics stay behind.
But a clean install takes more than peeling and sticking:
🧼 PREP THE SURFACE
Dirt, wax, and residue can interfere with adhesion. The work starts before the vinyl touches the truck.
📏 MEASURE & ALIGN
Door edges, seams, and hardware all affect placement. Those temporary tape marks help keep the layout where it belongs.
🛠️ APPLY WITH CARE
Controlled squeegee pressure helps the vinyl make consistent contact with the surface.
🔎 CHECK THE DETAILS
Removing the transfer tape reveals the design—and gives us another chance to inspect edges and lettering.
Your work truck represents your business at every jobsite. The details deserve the same care you put into your own work.
📝 CLASS QUESTION: Is your work vehicle telling people who you are—or leaving them guessing?
