After a small hiatus from the world, I am back.

I was struggling with some mental health issues, lack of motivation and deaths in my life; my circle became smaller as I hid away from the world.

I slipped into my normal routine of ignoring old projects and starting new ones. My garage hoarding became larger as I chased being organized and instead being over run with clutter.

I am reinvigorated about this project. I hope to meet new people and reconnect with everyone.

New storage shelf, new flooring, and new machines.

Thank you all for visiting my booth last weekend.

I had a great time talking to people excited to get this done and dealing with skeptics that had questions. I was there to answer any questions and I believe I got my point across successfully.

This page now has over 500 followers and growing ever day. Please continue to share this page as we need as much support as we can.

It is time to make some big moves and I am happy I have the community behind me.

Just a reminder ... This coming saturday we will have a spot in the parade and a booth.

Be in the parade in your ride! (Non-street legal ok.) We are lining up at 9am!

Come down and talk to me and other about this project and the park at the booth.

I will be walking the property and giving tours of the area. Come and see the area... Come up with suggestions on the shape of the trails and track!

Welcome to all the new members! We have over 400 followers!!!

Tonight I received my 2 banners to be used in the Parade at Wilkeson Days and the booth in the vendors area on July 31st.

Thank you RK Graphics for making the banners.

I look forward to meeting people and talking about this project.

If you ever wondered what was located at Coke Oven Park, I came upon these maps. It looks like the mine is on the other side of the river. So the likelihood to dig up voids or empty shafts are minimal.

The last couple of pics are the first rough draft of new additions to the park. Bathrooms and pavilions are not yet represented in the draft. Those would have to be strategically placed. (Note that all items are just suggestions.)

The green lines are walking trails that have elevation changes leading to 2 look out points (the square boxes.) These trails are already present and cleared ... So the majority of the work would be to pave them.

The brown lines are asphalt roads/trails that have little to no elevation changes and stretches the full length of the park (including the stretch next to the track and the coke ovens.)

The dark black box is the concrete building that is still standing. It would be converted into a concession stand with a beer garden next to it.

The parking lot is at the other end of the park.

The obvious oval is the track with a grand stand. The track may change in size and shape as this is not to scale. The grandstand locations may also change.

Update from last week:

This past Wednesday (June 9, 2021), we gave a brief proposal to the Town Council of Wilkeson about the possibility of having a Flat Track at Coke Oven Park.

The proposal gave any explanation of the goals we are wanting to achieve for the park as a whole and how the Flat Track would help us reach those goals.

The council agreed to allow our proposal to be sent to a Pierce County Council member where we hope to have support as we continue to the next steps (we will be retooling the proposal before it is sent out again.) At that point we hope to have a full concept with drawings and plans so that the proposal can be taken to the Parks Department.

We are in need of your support now and as we continue this process. Please comment, like, and most importantly share this page.

Hello,

This page is devoted to help support and give direct information about the possibility of having a Flat Track in the Town of Wilkeson.

Our goal is to provide a safe place for all types of rides to ride or race. This includes motorcycles (2 wheels), 3 wheelers, and quads. We hope to tailor from the peewee class to pro class and help support those with no or little experience.

This may be a long trek or a stretch; but with persistence and support from everyone, we can achieve our goals of having a successful public venue.
