Winter is around the corner! This cold front really has me thinking- when was the last time I tested my battery?

WINTERIZING TIPS!!

•TEST YOUR BATTERY!! Ensure it’s going to be able to handle the cold. Clean any corrosion from the terminals.

• REPLACE WIPER BLADES!! If not already in use, top off your washer fluid with a de-icer.

•CHECK YOUR TIRES!! Inspect your tread depth and pressure.

•CHECK YOUR FLUIDS! Check fluids such as antifreeze, coolant and oil.

Additional tips.

Battery: Use a battery tender if your vehicle will be parked for an extended period of time (over a week). Many larger trucks and SUVs would also benefit.

Tires: All tires have wear marks, this is a horizontal bar inside of your tread. Once your tread is flush with that mark they have reached the legal wear limit and need replaces.
-Air pressure will rise and lower with temperature, so keep an eye on them with the fluctuating weather.

Fuel: Your tank should be at least half full in sub freezing temperatures- this prevents condensation and ensure you have enough fuel if you get stuck/stranded
-Diesel trucks needs treated!! Diesel will gel in freezing temperatures, stock up on treatment now before the shelves are empty!

Service your Vehicle! This is the quickest way to ensure your vehicle is fully winterized. Get your breaks checked, have a professional insure your fluids are good and none of your reservoirs are cracked. Inspect the defrost and heater and ensure they’re operational. The rest you can do at home or you can call us!! Our team is here to help ensure safe travels.

Expect travel delays due to near blizzard conditions in areas including but not limited; Kansas Turnpike between Wichita and Emporia, I-135 between Wichita and Salina, HWY 96 from Wichita to Hutchinson, All of Hwy 50!!

Emergency response delays due to weather conditions are expected. If you must be out on the roads make sure to pack a blanket, water, food, dry/warm clothes.

Tow assist/Winch assist delays expected. We are fully staffed with all trucks on stand by for emergency response!!
