This year, fireworks will light up the skies over the Rend Lake Golf Complex on July 3 at 9:15 p.m. hosted by the Rend Lake Conservancy District.
The weekend includes lots of family friendly fun! See event schedule below!
The Rend Lake Golf Resort is located at 12476 Golf Course Road, Whittington, IL at the intersection of Highway 154 and Larry Foster Parkway. Look for the golf ball water tower! For more information call 618-439-4321.

🚨Important Camper & Traffic Updates🚨
Traffic Restrictions:
🚗Starting at NOON on July 3, Golf Course Drive will be restricted to Golf Complex visitors, Gun Creek campers, and their guests. Expect heavier-than-normal traffic in the evening. Visitors to the campgrounds MUST know campsite number and last name on the reservation to enter.
🚗Traffic leaving the fireworks event will only be able to go north on Larry Foster Pkwy to Illinois HWY 154.

Hey Y'all, sorry I have been MIA for awhile. My husband and I took an amazing vacation for a week in Jamaica!! What an amazing beautiful place it is!! We are back now, so I'll be posting more ASAP! 🍑🐊 SWAMP ASS OUTBREAK CONTINUES this afternoon as heat indexes near 100 degrees and extremely humid conditions continue in southern Illinois. The dude wipe advisory and deodorant mandate remain in effect until further notice. Some of y’all broke that yesterday, and I’m disappointed. 😅

On a real note: Take extra breaks. Stay hydrated. Check on elderly neighbors. No one needs to be exposed to this heat for long periods of time.

I had a long list of productive things I was supposed to accomplish this weekend.

Clean the camper.

Organize files.

Answer emails.

Handle a few projects.

Instead, somehow I ended up sitting beside a campfire at an RV campground watching the sunset.

Not sure how it happened. It was definitely an accident.

A complete and total campcident. 😂

Anyone else mysteriously find themselves RV camping when they should be doing something responsible?
