Driving a stick may seem like a headache at first...
But it doesn't have to be.
Here's three tips to help you
(and make your car last longer)
First, if you're on a steep hill, you can use your handbrake to help.
Put it in gear, pull up on the hand brake (with the button held in) and slowly release as you start.
This prevents unnecessary clutch wear.
Secondly, don't rest your foot on the clutch while driving.
This causes a tiny amount of slippage, destroying your clutch early.
Finally, don't drag it out.
You may think a slow, "smooth" start is better, but it's not.
Instead, let go of the clutch as soon as it catches.
Driving a manual shouldn't be a headache,
or a massive repair bill.
