What are you looking at you may ask ? We wanted to do a before and after video on the solid shift joints because this is one of those parts where you will not only feel but you can see the difference. Up top you see the original shift joints whompin and a rolling around because it’s 20 years old so the bushings are worn and it wasn’t designed with tight tolerances in mind. On the bottom you see the new Kartboy solid shift joint and you can clearly see that it is stiff and holding in place. Machined out of a single piece of stainless, accompanied with crush tubes and press fit bronze bushings, the Kartboy solid shift joint was made from a clean sheet design. We didn’t want to make another solid shift joint. We wanted to make the best possible solid shift joint. As you can see, it took out a massive amount of slop and is very noticeable. Our new solid shift joints are now available for both 5 and 6 speeds for pre order.

Introducing the new Kartboy 5-Speed and 6-Speed Solid Shift Joints! When it comes to tightening up your shifts, this is the final boss. When you look at the OEM setup, it uses a soft rubber-insulated joint that wears just like the rubber in the other components you probably already replaced. This means you’re having unnecessary slop, less feel, and ultimately more k**b wiggle. We’re anti wiggle here at Kartboy.

So what’s the solution? The Kartboy shift joint replaces that factory assembly with a machined piece made of stainless combined with press-fit bronze bushings, and machined crush tubes. This allows for a bind-free design while allowing you to torque things down to a proper torque.

TLDR? Better design, better feel, better shifts.

Mark had the opportunity to try something he had never done before… which was have fun. After installing the full suite of Kartboy bushings he was able to drive Quinn’s right hand drive Subaru which was, well - the experience in the video 😂 We are super excited to share our latest release, just a little bit longer before we tell you 👀
