I wanted to do taxidermy for myself but mostly to recreate memories of a lifetime. I had the honor to mount my buddy Blake Sumpter deer, his good buddy was a taxidermist and passed away mid process so to make this happen for him was truly an honor. Hammer of a deer, and to have 2 sets of hands working on it throughout the process is incredible. Thanks for the opportunity buddy!

You might ask, what does a taxidermist do on a Friday ? Well it’s not sit around and drink coffee! Skinned this beast this morning for a good friend of mine and now a client! Took him to Marissa Weathermon bc that’s where the mounting will take place. She’s done a few before so this will be a learning experience for me! Pictures don’t do him justice he weighed 2500+ the processor said it’s the biggest he’s ever handled!

* Horn test fit before countersinking screw heads ✅

Do you use replacement noses?

Big shout out to all the 4-H and FFA kids that made the premium sale at the Delaware County 2026 Livestock show! Brody & Payson Becker, Laynee Thurman , Laiken Barenberg, Raimey Williams, Chisolm Jones you all did great! Fantastic job on your Steers and Heifers and Hog!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Have an idea, we are thinking about giving away a “FREE SHOULDER MOUNT” to a 1 lucky winner! This would be a raffle $50 a spot no money would be collected until all the spots are full. At that time we would collect money, and draw for the mount! SHOULDER MOUNT, current customers that have deer in my shop are eligible for the drawing! It would need to be this years deer, or a deer that’s in the freezer! If you’re a winner and don’t have a deer to be mounted we can work something out.

The drawing would be Tuesday of next week that way it can be for CHRISTMAS!

Seems like almost every deer dropped off have had very little mass with a ton of tine length, or not much length and a lot of mass! Gonna be some pretty mounts leaving the shop in days to come! If you’ve been kicking around the idea of getting that ole head out of the freezer, or one you killed this year and just can’t decide. Let’s get it out and get it mounted! Freezer burn will ruin a hide faster than you may know.
