Scared to merge onto the highway? Here’s the key: confidence + awareness 👇

✅ Scan traffic early
✅ Use the FULL merge lane
✅ Signal before merging
✅ Check mirrors AND over your shoulder
✅ Match the speed of traffic before sliding in

Those short dashed white lines are there for a reason, they give you space to safely enter traffic.

One of the biggest mistakes new drivers make is trying to merge too early or too slowly. Use the entire lane and stay focused on traffic flow.

If you’re learning to drive in Buffalo, New York, highway merging is a skill you NEED to get comfortable with. The more you practice it correctly, the easier it gets.

It’s called the penny test.

Take a penny, turn Lincoln upside down, and place it into your tire tread:

➡️ If you can see the top of his head, you need new tires
➡️ If you can’t, your tread is still good
