MISSON COMPLETE!!

Day 5 of the Hot Rod Power Tour 2026 is officially completed and we have crossed the finish line! We traveled from Springfield Missouri and arrived in Tulsa Oklahoma at Tulsa Raceway Park and recorded the last punch on our cards at the final check point of the Tour! We then received our Long Hauler signs covering 5 cities in 5 days!! We traveled well over 2000+ miles in the Buick and are officially back home near Cincinnati where we started this journey 6 days ago!

The car performed flawlessly! The extreme midwest Oklahoma heat and storms didn't phase the LRP prepped Turbo Buick!! The almost 800 mile 12+ hour trip home was a breeze! We set the cruise control to 75 mph, put the A/C on high and hammered down! The car ran at 165/170 on temps and averaged just over 20 miles a gallon on fuel! It didnt even use one drop of oil on the entire trip! This car was just about as efficient as we could ever ask for! After an oil change, this car is ready for its next task!

We made a couple stops at some more cool locations while in Oklahoma including the The Blue Whale landmark in Catoosa, right on Route 66!

Lorenz Racing and Performance would like to thank all of our friends for asking us to join them for this experience! Cal and Jake Hartline of Hartline Performance, Dave Fiscus of Fiscus Motorsports, Tyler, Donny, Jay and all our friends we got to spend time with at all the stops on the tour!! We had a blast!!

Everyone have a safe and enjoyable summer with those Turbo Buicks!!

Stay tuned for more Turbo Regal builds!

Day 4 of the Hot Power Tour is in the books!!

The Buick is running great!! The car just turned over to 107k miles. We're at over a thousand miles traveled so far on this trip. The engine runs cool at 165-175 in these 90+ degree temps and the a/c is still working great! When on the interstate we set the cruise control at 75 mph and let it roll!! We couldn't be happier with how this car is performing on this journey!

Yesterday we traveled from Saint Louis to Springfield Missouri to our fourth check point at Missouri State University. We then worked our way towards our final destination in Tulsa Oklahoma on Route 66.

We traveled down through Spensor and moved through Carthage and made many stops along the way. Red Oak II which was an open air museum in Jasper County and was a really neat stop.

We then stopped in Joplin Missouri at the House of Speed to check out a really cool vintage motorcycle shop that was under construction.

Next we traveled through Galena Kansas and saw some really cool old Route 66 service stations and landmarks. We stopped at Gerheads Curios and grabbed some Route 66 root beers and some t shirts.

Next destination is at Tulsa Raceway to complete the Hot Rod Power Tour 2026!!

Stay tuned!

Day 3 of the Hot Rod Power Tour in Saint Louis Missouri has been completed!!

We traveled from Rantoul Illinois down to Saint Louis on Route 66 and caught some great picts of some really cool landmarks! Some of the roads in 66 still have the original bricks and bridges! We went through some really cool towns, Virden Illinois being one of them. You know they are great when the police are encouraging you to do burnouts right in the middle of town!👍

Our group was even interviewed by the local ABC news channel 20! See the second video on this link.

We were also able to meet up with some great Buick friends from the area. Fellow Turbo Hot Street racer David Day, fellow Buick racer Chris Gosch and Bryan Lynch! It was then on to World Wide Technology Raceway in Saint Louis! Thousands of cars again were on hand to complete this 3rd leg of the Tour!

Next, we head south to Missouri State University for the 4th leg of the Tour! Stay tuned!!

When the police tell you to do a burnout.. you do a 7 psi launch & burnout!!😁💪

Day 2 of the Hot Rod Power Tour in Rantoul Illinois has been completed!! This stop was held at the Rantoul National Aviation Center. Some more rain was back in effect but once again, it didnt stop thousands from the enjoyment of the Hot Rod Power Tour!!

We really got to spend time and visit some of the awesome sites and locations on Route 66 our way from Joliet to Rantoul! From old time mom & pop fuel stations to old time diners, museums and even the 2 cell jail in Gardner Illinois! This leg of the Tour had it all!

The Turbo T has been running strong and the A/C has been working great in this brutal midwest heat! With well over 500 miles traveled since we left Cincinnati, Dave and Brian couldn't be happier with cars performance and drivability! Bobby Buick would be proud!

It wouldn't be a Hot Rod Power Tour without having some mechanical issues and over coming adversity! After a couple thousand miles now, our friends from Florida, Donny Pepin had a roll pin break on his MSD distributer in his 1970 Ford pick up and Jay Martin had alternator issues in his LS powered 1966 Chevy Caprice. The Hartline crew and everyone jumped right in and we were able to get these issues fixed and get these vehicles back on the road in short time and running great again!!

Next stop for Day 3 we travel south to Saint Louis Missouri where we'll visit World Wide Technology Raceway for the day! Stay tuned!!

Lorenz Racing & Performance is going on a journey this week!!

We are participating in the 32nd HOT ROD Power Tour and we will be driving a rare cream beige 1987 Buick Turbo T that was completely gone through and refreshed by us, top to bottom!

The Buick we are driving on the tour was owned by our late friend Bob Slussler known to many as "Bobby Buick". Dave Fiscus of Fiscus Motorsports purchased the car from Bob last year and we're taking it on the tour to celebrate Bob and all our love for Turbo Buick's.

This car has just over a 100k miles and had sat for many years. Dave brought the car in and we went through it and updated everything possible! The entire fuel system was replaced with a new XP Pump, 60 # Injectors, chip and filter. The transmission was completely rebuilt to a Janis Stage 1 unit. The engine recieved a new Rollmaster billet timing set, valve springs, water pump, rear main seal and oil pan gasket along with all other engine gaskets. A new Cold Case radiator was installed to help keep the car cool over all those miles in the extreme Oklahoma heat and the heater core was also replaced! The A/C system was completely updated with a new compressor and other new components and the system is putting out 40 degree air temps! The rear end was gone through and refreshed with new diff oil, seals and we added a HR Parts diff cover along with a new set of BFG T/A radial tires. The intercooler was then upgraded to a Precision Turbo stock location unit and paired with a TA49 turbo, 3 inch downpipe along with a Pypes 3 inch exhaust system! New MAF & translator was installed along with a fresh coil pack & module and a new alternator. The powermaster brakes were gone through and a new accumulator ball was installed. We also added an alcohol injection system so Dave can turn the boost up and really enjoy this car! The car is now making over 400 horsepower and 550 torque to the tires!

The car was then moved into cosmetics where it recieved multiple stages of paint correction and polish to really bring back that depth and gloss! Dave elected to have the chrome bumpers put back on the car along with chrome marker lamps to give it that factory original look.

We will be joined on this trip by long time friends Dave Fiscus of Fiscus Motorsports, Cal & Jake Hartline of Hartline Performance and many other friends and long haul travelers! Dave and Brian will be driving Bobs cream beige 1987 Turbo T, Cal will be driving his black 1989 Firebird Formula with a fresh 6 speed conversion and Jake will be driving their classic black & red 1962 Impala convertible that was completely rebuilt by Hartline Performance!

This event spans over 5 days and is over a 1,000 miles long! We delivered the car to Dave's shop near Cincinnati Ohio yesterday. We now have driven the car 300 miles to Joliet Illinois at Route 66 Raceway where the event starts today!
Tomorrow we will continue on to Rantoul Illinois. The third stop on the tour will be in Saint Louis Missouri at World Wide Technology Raceway in Saint Louis! From there we will go to Missouri State University for the 4th stop and then onto Tusla Raceway Park in Tulsa Oklahoma for the final leg of the tour! This event will be celebrating the 100th anniversary of Route 66 and will follow that route! This event will have car shows, drag racing with live entertainment and tons of fun!!

Follow along with us on this trip! We will be posting updates from all along Route 66 and all the cities and friends we meet! Stay tuned!!

Lorenz Racing & Performance is back from the 2026 GS Nationals! It was another great year of racing, car shows and Buick's!!

This year the rain got some of the event with no track racing Wednesday but cleared up for Thursday and Friday and didnt return until later in the day Saturday. Even though several classes did not get to finish, it was still an awesome event! Race director John Csordas Jr., the track staff at Beech Bend and the volunteers were on point and were able to give us all a great track to race on with incredible organization! We cant thank them all enough for EVERYTHING!

The "Old Yeller" had a new combo for this year. We started out the week with a 9.99 and moved up with a 9.66. Then managed the #1 qualifier position with a 9.43. We received the $100 dollar bonus from RJC Racing for the #1 qualifying position! We cant thank Jason Cramer of RJC enough for all his support of many classes over all these years!! Unfortunately, due to all the rain we've had this spring, we didnt get much testing at all and the car had some fueling issues crop up and we opted to not run the car in eliminations. BIG congrats go out to the class RRA David Day on his win this year! Bobby would have been so happy for you!!

Congrats to long time friend and customer Marty Green! His beautiful gray LRP built street "SIX2GO" scored a Top 25 in the packed car show!

Big congrats goes out to Dave Fiscus of Fiscus Motorsports for the split win in TSO due to the rain!

Lorenz Racing & Performance would like to thank all the racers and sponsors for another great event!

We would also like to thank all the people and companies for all their help and support over the years.

Cal, Jake and Holly Hartline of Hartline Performance for always providing us with the best parts in the business and the best support anyone could ask for!!

Dave & Natalie Fiscus and Jason "Cheeseburger" Waterman of Fiscus Motorsports!

Marty Green for the very best in Snap-On tools and all his support over all these years!!

The Precision Turbo & Engine team for always providing us with the best turbos, waste gates and products in the business!!

Vince and the boys at Janis Transmission for always providing us with the absolute best in transmissions!

My hard working family and crew of Josh Hewitt and John T**e for all their hard work! Big thanks to Kevin & Trisha Broadwater for cooking all the food this past week! It was fantastic as usual!!

The LRP tents were extremely busy all week! As always we can't thank ALL our customers, friends and vendors enough for all their support over the years!! Without all the support of all the great people out there we couldn't do what we love to do!! Thank you all as always!! We'll be reaching out to everyone who messaged us about T shirts & Hoodies!

Remember our Buick event later this year at Dragway 42 in West Salem Ohio! On October 1st, 2nd, 3rd the Buicks are back again!! Stay tuned for more updates soon!! Well see you all there!!

Have a great summer everyone!
