đź’Ąđź’Ą2026 LORENZ RACING'S BUICK'S AT DRAGWAY 42 IS IN THE BOOKS!!đź’Ąđź’Ą

A total recap of this weekends Lorenz Racing & Performance 3rd consecutive Buicks at Dragway 42 & Cadillac Attack 26 event this weekend!! Once again, this event did not disappoint!!

The Buick community came out again to represent and support this race!! Racers traveling from as far west as California, north as far as Canada and as far south as Texas and everywhere in between!! With fuel prices currently the way they are and the weather not looking promising initially, it still didnt stop you all from coming out and enjoying this event and we thank you all!!

Things kicked off Thursday with a track rental test & tune. We had an amazing turn out with dozens of cars testing again this year! Even my daughter Sadie made some passes in her grandfathers '86 T Type running an impressive 11.95!! We're so proud of that girl! Event racers, spectators and campers were arriving and setting up their pits! Thursday evenings kick off party after the track rental was another good time had by all and the food was on point! Big thank you goes out to the food trucks on hand for knocking it out of the park!!

Friday the rain held us up for half the day but the track crew was on the job! They had the surface prepped by 3 o'clock and ready to run into the night and under the lights! Qualifying for all the Buick and Cadillac classes were held and the index/bracket race was under way! Records were being broke, personal bests and ultra fast times were happening again all day and into the night!! The track prep was absolutely outstanding!!! The VHT track bite was stellar and cars were dead hooking!!

Saturday the drivers meeting was held to go over the race before eliminations began and to thank everyone who came out to the event! To say the racing was awesome was an understatement!! Many cars again setting more personal bests!

Our "Old Yeller" Turbo Hot Street entry was the #1 qualifier resetting the class record Saturday once again with a [email protected]!! The car ran a 9.12, 9.11, 9.10, 9.07 and a 9.05 this weekend!

The final round of THS eliminations was an absolute down to the wire finish!! We were paired up with Jason White from Mississippi of 469 Performance for the finals with his "CRUSTY GN". Old Yeller took the win with a [email protected] to Jason's [email protected]!! The margin of victory was .0149!! We cant thank Jason and the entire White family enough for making the trip up for the event and for the great run!!

I want to personally thank my great friends Cal Hartline and Dave Fiscus for all their help and knowledge with helping us to push "Old Yeller" almost in to the 8's! Huge thanks to my friend and lead tech Josh Hewitt for all the long hours him and I have put into this car. We've struggled with this new program for a minute but we finally conquered it!!

Vince and the boys from Janis Transmission built us another stellar trans that got the job done!! Thanks again guys!!

**10/3/26 RACING & SHOW UPDATES**

Friday is in the books! What a great time was had by all!! We lost 5 hours of track time due to the early rain but that didnt stop the Lorenz Racing & Performance Buicks at 42 & Cadillac Attack 26!! By 3 o'clock the track was ready and cars were going down the track!! The racing action went deep into the evening under the lights for several hours of racing action!! The track prep was on point by the Dragway 42 track crew and cars were absolutely flying and breaking records!!

Our "Old Yeller" Turbo Hot Street entry reset a new class record with a [email protected] mph and is currently the #1 qualifier!

Saturday Race & Car Show! The weather still looks to be FANTASTIC!! Temps in the mid 60s and sunny! Gates open at 8! The car show registration begins at 9! Track goes hot at 10am! Stay tuned for more updates!!

Thursday track rental and kick off party was a success!! Dozens of Buick's and Cadillacs participated in the rental and alot of crews and spectators got in on the kick off party with the free food last night! We cant thank everyone enough for supporting this event!!

Friday/today we have a rain delay. Gates open at 9. The rain is supposed to be done by 11am! Track crews will be drying the track and getting things ready for heads up class qualifying and test & tune!

Saturday the weather looks FANTASTIC!! Temps in the mid 60s and sunny! Gates open at 8! The car show registration begins at 9! Track start times may be moved up. Stay tuned for more updates!!

**Here it is again for 2026!! Lorenz Racing & Performance presents Buicks at Dragway 42!!**

October 1st, 2nd & 3rd 2026!!

Lorenz Racing & Performance has teamed up once again with Hartline Performance and the Cadillac Attack Race to offer a 3 day Buick event at one of the nicest racing facilities in the country!! Dragway 42 in West Salem Ohio!! Last year again, many ran their personal best E/Ts and MPH at this event!!

The Buick side of this event is open to anything Buick powered! There will be all the heads up, bracket, and idex classes! Test and tune lanes will be available as well! In addition to the racing there will also be a car show on Saturday the 3rd!!

Thursday October 1st will be a track rental for test and tune and a welcome day for racers and spectators to get settled in, drop trailers off and free over night camping is available.

There will also be a KICK OFF PARTY with FREE food and entertainment Thursday evening after the track rental!!

Friday & Saturday October 2nd & 3rd will be qualifying and full racing programs!

Near by hotels in Ashland, Wooster, Seville and Mansfield are all within 10 to 30 minutes from the track and are listed below.

Ticket prices and options are the same for the Cadillac Attack and the Buicks. Prices are the exact same as last year.

Thousands of dollars worth of door prizes, raffles, and give aways from all our sponsors and vendors will be happening all 3 days!!

Thursday October 1st will kick off with the track rental T&T and will be $250 per car/driver CASH ONLY. General admission for spectators, trailer drop off and free camping over night.

Track is hot at 10am to 5pm

Friday & Saturday October 2nd and 3rd. Race entry will be $150 per car/driver per day CASH ONLY but IF paying for both days together total will $275. General admission for spectators is $25. Kids 10 and under are FREE.

Saturdays car show will be a flat $40 dollar entry fee for car and driver. Car show registration begins at 8am till 12 noon. Trophy's will be awarded and dozens of door prizes and raffles will be going on and given away also!!

Lorenz Racing & Performance recently had an iconic car in for some updates!

Who remembers this car and company??

This car graced the cover of the Postons Enterprises Buick Parts catalog for many years dating clear back to the early '90s!

We built this program for former LDR radial racer Jarod Wenrick a few years ago. We just recently had the car back in the shop for a cam, valve train, fuel system and turbo upgrade.

This engine build is very similar to our "Old Yeller" THS build we ran for many years running a best of 9.30s@142 mph in THS legal trim.

This car has an LRP 109 stock block 235 ci standard stroke engine. Its prepped with 3 steel main caps with complete forged internals. A set of Champion aluminum ported heads & race intake, LRP custom cam with T&D rockers, Comp spring package, Smith Bros push rods and Johnson lifters. Its now topped off with a new Precision Turbo Next Gen 7270 3 bolt turbo, LRP custom built 3.5 downpipe run through 3 inch dual exhaust and a custom front mount intercooler.

This car has now made 808 horsepower and 996 torque at 34psi!

Everything is controlled and tuned with a FuelTech FT500 fuel management system, Aeromotive 3.5 gallon brushless pump, Bosch injectors and running E85 for fuel.

The car is fitted with an M&M T400 transmission with an MM shifter and a PTC 17 blade converter.

Thursday October 1st will kick off with the track rental T&T and will be $250 per car/driver CASH ONLY. General admission for spectators, trailer drop off and free camping over night.

Gates Open at 9:00am
Track is hot at 10am to 5pm

Friday & Saturday October 2nd and 3rd. Race entry will be $150 per car/driver per day CASH ONLY but IF paying for both days together total will $275. General admission for spectators is $25. Kids 10 and under are FREE.

Saturdays car show will be a flat $40 dollar entry fee for car and driver. Car show registration begins at 8am till 12 noon. Trophy's will be awarded and dozens of door prizes and raffles will be going on and given away also!!
