October is National Pedestrian Safety Month, and it is an important reminder that sharing the road means looking out for everyone around us.

Whether you are driving through a busy shopping area, a neighborhood, a school zone, or a parking lot, take a moment to slow down and stay aware. Watch carefully for people crossing the road, especially children, pedestrians who may be difficult to see, and anyone walking near intersections or crosswalks.

Distractions can take your attention away from what is happening around your vehicle in just a few seconds. Put the phone down, keep your eyes on the road, and give pedestrians the space and time they need.
