MEET THE TEAM:

Today we like to introduce one of our latest additions in building one of the best technical acclimated independent shops around. Dalton Teem comes to us with a lot of technical experience. He spent over 7 years at one independent shop and 2 plus years dealership experience. Dalton is well diverse in all car lines as far as experience and is not scared to tackle any job he is given. In his spare time he loves spending time with his wife, son and daughter. He also enjoys spending time outdoors and doing some fishing.

Read a Facebook post earlier with someone dealing with a poorly balanced tire. So I thought I’d bring an older post of ours back to light.

What is force match balancing and why is it more expensive ??

————————————————————————————

Why do you leave the stickers on the tires. Here is a reason. While mounting the tire the technican noticed a lot of run out. Excessive to be exact. The tire being the culprit at .033 inches and the wheel was only .008. By force matching the wheel and tire the prediction was still out of specs…. A bad tire. So much easier to return a tire with the sticker on it and this printout to get a replacement at no questions asked.

What is force matching?

Force matching, or road force balancing, is a process that corrects tire and wheel assembly vibrations that standard balancing can’t fix by measuring and compensating for the combined forces of the tire and rim. A machine uses a roller to simulate a vehicle’s weight, measures the tire’s stiffness and runout, and then marks the best position for the tire to be rotated on the rim to align its high and low spots. This alignment minimizes the combined road force variation, leading to a smoother ride

As you can tell the tire balancer shows us where to mark the tire, and wheel. We spin the tire to the mark on the wheel and balance. However it wouldn’t have helped in this situation, a bad tire.

We have fixed many vibration issues with our Hunter balancer that others without couldn’t get an accurate balance. We saved this customer from leaving with a bad tire and fighting that claim after the fact.

Some will say certain shops prices are high, however certain shops have the right equipment, diagnostics, tools, and personnel to do the job right.

Give us a shout for your next tires, or a vibration other shops have been fighting. We’ll give it our best shot. A lot of time, force match balancing does the trick.
