Choosing a camshaft. Probably one of the most misunderstood and easily overlooked performance upgrades in the industry. There is so much more than opening a parts catalog and playing pin the tail on the donkey from some deciptive description in the paragraph alongside the photo of a part, this is where most shops show their true skill set or the lack there of.
You build a motor around a specific cam profile that fits the geometry and volumemetric efficiency of the combination and intended use of the vehicle, and in the case of a bolt in cam you must choose wisely based on the current configuration. And ask youself this when scouring the web why do most selfproclaimed “tuners” / “builders” show dyno graphs of there work stariting a pull at 2,500/3,000 rpm? And no basline run alongside? This example should resonate how this theory is used in a real world situation.
2014 FXSB all stock motor 103”and there’s no shame in my game, starting the run at just before 1,500 rpm. I’m not a parts changer. Here’s our work. This is W.A.C. Cycles you run with us or you get run over by us. 🫳🎤
