Quick heads up for our customers. Chipfix is closed Friday, October 23 through Tuesday, October 27 while we move into our new place. We’re back Wednesday, October 28 at regular hours.

Saturday’s job was right down the road from me, which is my favorite kind. Star chip with a small crack running off it, filled and sealed in the driveway while the owner got on with their day. Tesla Tuesday. One very big chip on a Model Y in Lake St. Louis, with cracks running out in every direction. Left alone, a chip this size can spread across the glass fast and end in a replacement. It's filled and stable now, and the long cracks are gone.

Fixed a windshield chip this week for a lady in Wentzville. She picked it up on Wentzville Parkway, the kind of thing that happens in a second and then bugs you every time you look at the glass. Before on the left, after on the right.

The repair fills the break and stops it from spreading, so it doesn't turn into a full windshield. You can still see a faint mark if you look for it, but the glass is solid again.

One chip, but a nasty one, with long cracks running out of it. Before on the left, after on the right.

It won't make the damage disappear, but it fills the break and stops the cracks from spreading, so a small repair doesn't turn into a new windshield. You can still see a faint mark up close. The long cracks are gone and the glass is stable.
