Breaking down an early 351W engine for a rebuild at a later date. Intake casting number is D1AE-9425-CA with a date code of 0L10 (November 10, 1970). I will get block and head casting numbers and date codes once it’s torn down and on an engine stand.

Here’s the 289 engine for the 1964.5 Mustang Convertible. Waiting on a few correct brackets, pulleys and wiring harness since we are converting to alternator instead of the generator (basically an early 1965 version). Period correct Ford Low Gloss Black engine with Gold valve covers and chrome Hi-Po air cleaner (need to paint the base gold as well).

Might as well as pressure wash the engine bay and put down a fresh coat of semi-gloss black paint before the new 289 goes back in.

Plan on pressure washing the underside of the one owner 1964-1/2 Mustang Convertible while the engine and transmission are out for upgrades.

The one family 1964-1/2 Ford Mustang Convertible is back at the shop for a new engine. Took at the original 260 V8 and plan on covering it up and the owner will put it up in the corner for later. Going with an early 5-bolt 1964 289 engine with a rebuilt/freshened up original 3-speed manual transmission.

Also building a SBF 347 Stroker Engine using a F1SE 5.0L block with a 1F12 (June 12, 1991) date code. Might as well put a main cap stud girdle on it for a little added strength.

Building a period correct date code numbers matching 1967 289 SBF Engine that will be for sale. Here is the 289 block with casting number C6AE-6015-0 and date code of 7F16 (June 16, 1967). Block has been fully machined (bored/honed to 0.030” over, line honed, decked, brass freeze plugs, new cam bearings, etc.) Freshly painted with both high heat primer and high heat Ford Dark Blue.
