We hate to even have to make a post like this, but we want to give everyone a heads up.

One of our waitresses recently received a fake $10 bill as a tip, and based on timing, we’re assuming it may have happened during Swampfest.

While we loved being part of a busy, exciting weekend in our town, situations like this are disappointing... not just for our business, but especially for our hardworking staff who depend on those tips.

We want to encourage all local businesses to be on the lookout for counterfeit bills that may be circulating in the area.

Please know we take this very seriously.
Anyone who attempts to pay with or leave counterfeit money will be reported and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Let’s continue to look out for one another and protect our businesses, our employees, and our community.

Waycross, thank you.

After many years of serving this community, our Jerry J’s South Georgia Parkway location will be serving guests through Friday, April 10th, closing at 2 PM.

This store has been more than just a place to eat. It’s been morning routines, conversations over coffee, and a familiar stop for so many of you. We’re truly grateful for every visit and every memory made here.

While it’s never easy to close a chapter like this, we’re excited about what’s coming next. We’ll be transforming this location into Southern Roost Waycross. And don’t worry, you’ll still find the same breakfast favorites you’ve come to love, just with a new name on the building.

The conversion process typically takes about 8 to 10 weeks, and we’re aiming for a Summer Grand Opening. We can’t wait to bring something fresh to Waycross while continuing to serve the community we care so much about.

The Kennedy L. Sanders Outstanding Citizen Achievement Award

Please join us in congratulating Bo Scurry, an employee of the City of Waycross, for being recognized with the Kennedy L. Sanders Outstanding Citizen Achievement Award.

Bo demonstrated exceptional awareness and initiative when he noticed a residential fire. He immediately called 911 and remained on the scene, actively assisting and helping manage the situation until the Fire Department arrived.

His quick thinking, calm response, and willingness to step in helped limit the spread of the fire and prevent what could have been a total loss of the home.

Bo’s actions reflect the very best of the City of Waycross workforce—employees who are committed to the safety and well-being of our community both on and off duty.

Congratulations, Bo, and thank you for your outstanding service.

🚧 Traffic Advisory: Lee Avenue Culvert Replacement 🚧

Starting the week of February 9th, the City of Waycross will begin work to replace the culvert under Lee Avenue.

🔒 Road Closure:
Lee Avenue will be closed from the traffic light at Memorial Drive to the underpass.
No through traffic will be allowed in this section. Access will be permitted only for those visiting businesses located within the closure area.

🗺️ Plan Ahead:
Motorists are encouraged to plan alternative routes during this time.

⏱️ Project Timeline:
This is an estimated 3-month project. Please note that the start date is weather-dependent and subject to change.
