A customer contacted me regarding issues with their lawnmower, which would run smoothly for a minute before experiencing difficulties. Following an inspection, I advised a full tune-up, which resolved the issue and resulted in another satisfied customer.

I was working on my mini bike today. The motor I had on it had one of the bolts to where the carb went broken off in the head. Fortunately, I was able to locate a parts motor, but it was electric start and I didn’t feel like dealing with electrical. So I took a gamble and removed the heads from both motors. Upon comparison, they appeared identical. Therefore, I installed the functional head on my motor and tightened everything down, and initially, it didn’t have compression, so I had to adjust the valves and now it’s ready to go. At this point, I just need to obtain a few more miscellaneous parts and the mini bike will be ready to ride.

Pulled this thing out of the shop today. Wasn’t told anything about it; just knew it didn’t run. Didn’t know how long it had sat for or anything. So I just started by checking for spark, and it had spark. So I said, why not just throw some fuel in it and see what happens? To my surprise, a couple of pulls later, it fired right up. Now I have a good little saw to take when I go riding.

This morning, I resumed work on the Cub Cadet Time Saver zero-turn lawn mower. Upon arrival, I promptly commenced installing the drive belt pulley, followed by the belt, and subsequently reattached the clutch. After securing the bolt to hold these components in place, I started the mower and verified its functionality. The mower performed satisfactorily for several passes around the yard, after which the hydraulic pump on the right side ceased to function. I will now proceed to source a replacement pump to facilitate the restoration of the mower’s operation.
