This original State Line Auto Auction sign dates back to 1981 and features the very first logo design, created by local artist Les Marshall. The logo was hand-drawn and painted on the original plywood sign (pictured below), with direction from Jeff Barber’s dad at the time.

Fun fact: Les Marshall was actually a local postmaster who did design work on the side. Even the color choice has meaning, as the original blue and gold were selected to match the New York state license plates in use at the time.

Now, that same design is making a comeback. You’ll see a throwback version featured on our event t-shirts at this year’s 45th Anniversary Sale, with our team repping a piece of State Line history.

🇺🇸 This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. We are grateful for their sacrifice, courage, and dedication to protecting our freedoms. As you spend the holiday weekend with family, friends, and community, we wish everyone a meaningful and safe Memorial Day. Please note that State Line Auto Auction offices will be closed Saturday, May 23rd and Monday, May 25th in observance of the holiday. Normal operations will resume following Memorial Day weekend. As always, we will continue to have 24/7/365 on-site security, with staff available at Gate 6 for deliveries and pick-ups. If you need assistance while the office is closed, the Guard Shack can be reached directly at 607-426-5039.
