Restoration Spotlight - 1966 Ferrari 275 GTS
Italian elegance. Legendary performance. A new chapter begins!
Introduced at the 1964 Paris Motor Show, the Ferrari 275 GTS brought open-air motoring back to the marque’s lineup, replacing the 250 GT Series II Cabriolet. Designed and built by Pininfarina, its beautifully sculpted body delivered a distinctive blend of sophistication and sporting character.
Under the hood sat Ferrari’s 3.3-liter V12, shared with its fixed-roof sibling, the legendary 275 GTB. Both cars rode on the same 2,400mm wheelbase, but the GTS stood apart with its open headlights, elegant wraparound taillights, and classic convertible profile.
Now, this Italian masterpiece is beginning a new chapter!
The team at Gary’s Rods & Restorations has just begun the task of bringing this beauty back to its former glory. First on the list? Replacing the incorrect nose with a correct, hand-fabricated nose, restoring the car’s proper lines and authentic Ferrari character. It’s a meticulous process where craftsmanship, attention to detail, and respect for the original design make all the difference.
Only 200 examples of the 275 GTS were built during its brief two-year production run, making it an exceptionally rare and desirable piece of Ferrari history. One example recently crossed the auction block for an incredible $2.1 million!
