The Harry J. has been doing business in the greater Waterville area for over 90 years. Known for their prompt, courteous service with all their work guaranteed philosophy, the company continues its success in the 21st century. The professionals at the Harry J. really care about our customer's needs. Starting from our early years as a blacksmith shop, we continue to bring our customers the same one-on-one old fashioned service, which made Harry J. famous at the turn of the century. The company was founded by Harry J. Smith, an expert blacksmith in his day, by shoeing horses and repairing wagon wheels. Later on, he began working on truck frames and alignments. Harry then progressed to repairing all vehicles. He then sold his business in 1961 to the Briggs Brothers and they sold it to Bob Godfrey and Don Abrams in 1972. Bob bought Don's share in 1982. Dan Veilleux started working in 1973, and Bob sold the business to Dan in 1988. Dan expanded the garage in 1992 to repair RV's, busses, and specializing in alignments, brakes, and spring suspension replacements. Our well trained, knowledgeable mechanics have been with us for many years and many customers have come to know and trust them working on their vehicle knowing the work will be done the right way, the first time.
