S62 REBUILD SERIES | GETTING INSIDE
The teardown continues.
With the S62 out of the car and the initial disassembly underway, we’re getting to the point where the engine starts telling us its story.
Every component comes apart methodically. Bearings, timing components, cylinder heads, valvetrain, and the bottom end all get inspected—not just for obvious damage, but for the wear patterns and small details that tell us how this engine has lived.
On an S62, there’s no room for “good enough.”
This is an engine that deserves to be approached with precision, measurement, and an understanding of what makes it special.
As we continue this rebuild, we’ll be showing you what we find along the way—from teardown and inspection to machine work, assembly, and eventually bringing this legendary V8 back to life.
