Move Over. Slow Down. Save Lives.
When you see flashing lights on the roadside—tow trucks, police, fire, EMS, or road crews—move over a lane when it is safe to do so. If you can’t move over, slow down and proceed with caution.
Alaska law includes tow trucks actively working roadside. A few seconds of patience can give someone’s family a safe trip home.

Weather and road conditions will soon worsen as the seasons get colder, now is the time to make sure your child is riding safely.
Is your child in the right seat? A properly fitted car seat or booster seat can make all the difference when roads are icy, visibility is low, and winter driving gets unpredictable.
Before heading out, check that:
• Your child’s seat fits their current height and weight
• The car seat is installed securely
• Harness straps are snug and properly positioned
• Heavy winter coats are removed before buckling in
• Your child has not outgrown their car seat or booster
• The seat is not expired, damaged, or subject to a recall
Winter in Alaska is tough enough—make sure your most precious passenger is protected for every trip.

False safety reminder

In Remembrance – September 11, 2026
Today, we pause to honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the courage of the first responders who ran toward danger to help others. Their sacrifice reminds us of the strength, unity, and resilience that define our nation—and our communities here in Alaska.
At Alaska Transportation Equipment Services, we’re grateful for the men and women who keep us safe every day: firefighters, police, EMTs, military members, and all who serve. We remember. We honor. We never forget.
To our customers, partners, and friends: thank you for being part of a community that looks out for one another—on the road, at work, and in times of need.
