As the chill of winter recedes and the world starts to bloom again, it's time to dust off those winter blues and embrace the warmer weather. However, for cars, the transition from winter to spring isn't always smooth sailing. Just as the seasons change, so do the challenges for vehicles. Here are some common automotive issues that tend to crop up as spring rolls around:
1) Tire Pressure Fluctuations: With temperatures rising, tire pressure can fluctuate more than usual. As the air warms up, tire pressure increases, and if it's significantly higher than recommended, it can affect fuel efficiency, handling, and tire wear. Regularly check your tire pressure, especially after drastic temperature changes, and ensure they are inflated to the manufacturer's specifications.
2) Pothole Damage: Winter's freeze-thaw cycle can wreak havoc on roads, leaving behind a minefield of potholes. Springtime reveals the extent of this damage, posing a threat to tires, wheels, suspension systems, and alignment. Keep an eye out for potholes and try to avoid them when possible. If you do hit one, inspect your vehicle afterward for any signs of damage.
3) Battery Issues: Cold weather can be tough on car batteries, and the strain doesn't always show until temperatures start to rise. As spring arrives, weakened batteries may struggle to hold a charge, leading to difficulty starting the engine. If you notice any sluggishness or signs of a weak battery, such as dim headlights or slow cranking, consider getting it tested or replaced.
4) Brake Problems: Winter driving can accelerate brake wear and tear due to road salt, moisture, and grit. By the time spring arrives, your brakes might be due for inspection or maintenance. Listen for any unusual noises when braking, such as grinding or squealing, and have your brakes checked by a professional if needed.
5) Fluid Checks: As temperatures rise, it's essential to ensure all fluid levels are topped up and in good condition. Check your engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, transmission fluid, and windshield washer fluid regularly. Also, inspect for any leaks under your vehicle, as winter conditions may have caused damage to hoses or seals.
6) Allergen Build-up: Spring brings blooming flowers and pollen, which can find their way into your car's air filters and ventilation system. A clogged cabin air filter can reduce airflow and decrease the efficiency of your HVAC system. Consider replacing your cabin air filter and using air conditioning to help filter out allergens.
7) Air Conditioning Maintenance: Speaking of air conditioning, now's the time to ensure it's in top working condition before the summer heat arrives. If you notice any issues with cooling or strange smells coming from the vents, have your A/C system inspected and serviced by a professional.
😎 By staying proactive and addressing these common springtime automotive issues, you can help ensure a smoother and safer driving experience as you transition from winter hibernation to springtime adventures on the road.

Good morning I would like to thank all of our customers and my friends from near and far sending packages from New Hampshire, vendors that do business with the shop so many generous people and such tough economic times everything is so expensive and people still figure it out I want to thank everybody. I sincerely appreciate your generosity., this is the second pile of toys. It was already cleaned out once a couple of weeks ago and started heading out to the charities. This is the final pick up this weekend on this Friday. Thank you all again Kevin and the boys at the shop.
