Virginia Gold Cup Races Join us for world-class steeplechase racing in 2026! Virginia Gold Cup - May 2
International Gold Cup - October 24

The Virginia Gold Cup has over the past century made steeplechasing one of the most prestigious sports in America. Former NSA President George Strawbridge calls the Gold Cup’s Great Meadow racecourse, “The crown jewel of American steeplechasing.” Nick Arundel said simply “what this generation and The Virginia Gold Cup is doing at Great Meadow is driven by harmony with its community, its traditions and its environment.”

We're excited to announce that Nashville country artist Ryan Jewel will perform the National Anthem at the International Gold Cup on October 24th!

Drawing on his roots in the Shenandoah Valley, Ryan developed a musical storytelling style that feels both timeless and lived-in. From his debut album "Same Bar, Different Town" to his 2026 release "Barrel Full of Wh***ey", he blends classic country nostalgia with a modern edge.

He’s shared stages with some of the genre's most respected names, including Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, Marty Stuart, Travis Tritt, Lauren Alaina and others — and previously sang the Anthem at Lambeau Field for the NFL opener.

Don’t miss this native Virginian as he opens the International Gold Cup with a stirring rendition of the Anthem! 🇺🇸

First timer at the races? Here's our Race Day 101 for making the most of your day at the International Gold Cup:

1. Buy a program, then make a wager! The program has the full schedule, every horse entered, how to read past performance info, and more. Check out the field before each race, then place your bets at one of the stations around the grounds OR online using the TwinSpires app. 💰 More betting tips: vagoldcup.com/intl/wagering

2. Fuel the fun! Pack a tailgate with your own food and drinks or grab something delicious from our food vendors. Treat yourself - it's a day to indulge! 🍾 🍤

3. Shop ’til you drop! Hit the vendor areas on the North Rail, South Rail, and Member's Hill to shop fashion, jewelry, home goods, unique gifts, and more! 🛍

4. Get in the spirit! There's no feeling quite like the thrill of witnessing the horses thundering across the course. Snag a viewing spot and cheer on your favorite horse to victory. 🎉

5. Join a contest! Enter the hat or tailgate contest for the chance to win prizes (and bragging rights)! And new for this fall - the handbag contest! Just head to the Nila Bags booth in Member's Hill to register. Contest details: vagoldcup.com/intl/tailgating-and-activities 🎩 👒
