A NEW CHAPTER FOR BLACKOUT
This fall and winter, Blackout will begin transitioning into a new chapter of our business—and truthfully, of our family’s life as well.
You may have noticed that our website has carried the name “Blackout Solar Solutions” for some time. That wasn’t an accident. The name was chosen strategically as the foundation for a restructuring we knew we would eventually make when the time was right.
That time has come.
Blackout Tint and Detail, LLC will officially become Blackout Solar Solutions, LLC.
Beginning in 2027, we will focus exclusively on professional automotive, residential, and commercial window film—the strongest and fastest-growing part of our business.
WHAT THIS MEANS FOR OUR DETAILING CUSTOMERS:
• Exterior detailing appointments may still be scheduled through October 31, 2026. As usual, exterior detailing will close for the season beginning November 1.
• Interior detailing appointments may still be scheduled through December 31, 2026.
• Beginning January 1, 2027, all detailing services will be discontinued as we dedicate our full attention to window film.
We want to make those dates especially clear: you still have time to schedule your final exterior and interior detailing appointments with Blackout before the transition is complete.
WHY ARE WE MAKING THIS CHANGE?
A few meaningful changes have taken place within the Dinger household.
I’ve been given the opportunity of a lifetime to work as First Mate aboard a large walleye charter boat based out of Westfield, New York. The charter season runs from June through October, and I expect to be on the water three to five days each week.
Anyone who knows me knows how much fishing—and especially walleye fishing—has always meant to me. This is one of those rare opportunities that I would regret not pursuing.
Clare has also accepted a new position with UPMC. We are incredibly proud of her and excited about what this opportunity means for her future. Together, these changes give our family a chance to build a life with more balance, more time together, and room to pursue opportunities we have worked hard to reach.
There are also changes taking place at Blackout’s current location. Warren Tire Center has been purchased, leaving several unknowns surrounding our future there. We do not yet know whether our current rental agreement will be extended, and that uncertainty has weighed heavily on me.
But if the last four years have taught me anything, it’s that uncertainty doesn’t have to mean the end of something. Sometimes it simply tells you when it’s time to adapt.
Rather than allowing the unknown to control Blackout’s future, we are using it as an opportunity to simplify, potentially downsize if relocation becomes necessary, and build the business around the service with the clearest and strongest path forward.
This decision was not made lightly.
Detailing helped build Blackout from the ground up. It introduced us to many of the customers we are still proud to serve today. It gave me a way to turn long days, worn-out hands, and a stubborn belief in what this business could become into something real.
When Blackout began in 2023, I didn’t have a grand facility, a large team, or a pile of money behind me. I had roughly $200, a credit card, a young family depending on me, and the determination to make it work.
Four years later, Warren knows the Blackout name.
That only happened because of you.
To every person who trusted me with a vehicle, booked an appointment, shared a post, recommended Blackout, left a review, handed someone our number, or encouraged us when we were still trying to prove ourselves: thank you.
You didn’t just support a detailing and window-film business. You helped build a future for our family. The last four years have meant more to Mitch, Clare, and Cash than we could ever fully put into words.
We are not closing. We are not walking away from Warren.
We are evolving.
Our name may be changing and our service list may be getting smaller, but our standards are not. You can expect the same craftsmanship, honesty, attention to detail, and Blackout Quality Promise that built this company’s reputation.
We look forward to continuing to serve Warren and the surrounding region as your Window Film Professionals through Blackout Solar Solutions.
We are grateful for everything that brought us here, confident in where we are going, and incredibly excited to begin the next chapter of our family, our lives, and our business.
