Did you know...for every ear that someone opens the end to check on kernals and throws it back in the pile, that is one less 🌽that someone will get to enjoy How Sweet It Is? They are smaller than two weeks ago, possibly not developed in last inch or so, but still very DELICIOUS! Please don't open, just take a couple extra ears.

Some of you suffered some extensive damage and were without power for many days. We pray that your lives get back to normal soon.
The calls have started to come in that People lost all of their meat and other food items in their freezer, therefore they are asking what we can do to help them replace their meat in the freezer. We have a couple of ways we can help you with that.
If you would like to place a larger order, please call ahead so we can have it ready for you to pickup at a market or at the farm.
We do have a couple slots open for 1/2 or whole hog this week. First come, first serve. Beef is available as well. 1/8, quarters, individual cuts, ground beef and more.

POWER RESTORATION UPDATE - Saturday A.M.
We currently have 190 members without power this morning.

Our transmission provider was able to restore power to our West Toll Substation overnight. KV REMC crews are now working to repair a recloser, which will allow us to transfer the normal load back to the substation and continue restoring members.

There are currently 18 broken poles remaining on the system. Our crews will be working to address these throughout the day.

Many members who are still without power should see restoration today. Due to the extended time required for yesterday’s repairs, we are currently estimating that those who cannot be restored today will be restored tomorrow.

Please remember that these are estimates, not guarantees. Restoration times can change based on a number of circumstances.

We know that for many of you, this is Day 5 without power. We also know how difficult and frustrating that is. This is Day 5 for our crews, too. They have been working around the clock, away from their families and in challenging conditions.

Thank you for your patience, support, and understanding. We know you want your power back, and our crews are working just as hard to make that happen.

We will continue to provide updates as restoration progresses.

⚠️ SCAM ALERT: Door-to-Door Solicitors Falsely Claiming to Collect Money for National Guard Deployment

The Town of Munster has received reports of individuals going door-to-door asking residents and businesses for money, claiming the funds are needed to "bring in" the National Guard.

This is a scam. Please do not give money or personal/financial information to anyone making this claim.

Here are the facts:

The Indiana National Guard is a state resource. Its deployment is authorized and funded through the state, not through donations or payments from residents or local businesses.
The Town of Munster is not charging residents for National Guard assistance, storm cleanup, or any other emergency response services connected to the August 11 storm.
No legitimate town official, emergency responder, or National Guard member will solicit door-to-door for cash payments.

If someone approaches you asking for money for this reason:

Do not provide payment, cash, or personal/banking information
Ask for identification, legitimate officials will have it and won't hesitate to show it

Note a description of the person and any vehicle involved
Report it immediately to the Munster Police Department.

We know this is a stressful time for our community as we recover from the storm, and unfortunately scammers try to take advantage of situations like this. We'll continue sharing verified updates through our official channels, the Town website and this page, so please rely on those for accurate information.
