Big upgrades for the Forester! Just finished up a 6-speed swap from a JDM Legacy Spec B and installed a new BCP X500+ turbo. Using an OEM Exedy STi clutch, and pedal feel is much improved from my old 5-speed with the Exedy Stage 1. Should be close to 400whp - once I finish this clutch break in. Stay tuned for videos once it's all sorted out and broken in.

iWire saved the day twice in 2 weeks! My MAF sensor was acting up, and I suspected the wiring. I installed a new MAF pigtail harness, and for reassurance, an iWire grounding kit. That's seems to have fixed the issue. A week before that, I replaced my bulkhead connector to the fine harness since the tab snapped off, and of course iWire had the connector ready to ship out.

New parts, now in red! Just refreshed all the parts in my air induction and PCV system. Got a chance to try out the all new Overtake turbo inlet, bypass valve hose, TMIC couplers, air box hose, TMIC gaskets and BOV gasket, along with a new IAG street AOS to keep the whole setup oil free. The Overtake parts all fit great, had to make minor tweaks to get everything to fit, but the end result is amazing. Every single hose in their kit is spring reinforced (aside from the throttle body coupler) and comes with inner lined clamps for a top quality product. The inlet was an easy install once I moved the power steering pump out of the way. I had to reach out during install for some feedback, and their customer service is very helpful and quick to respond. The IAG street AOS required some changes to fit the massive GR STi intercooler- I had to bend the mounting bracket almost flat, move the AOS to the mounting holes to push it as far back as possible, then get a longer breather hose to make it to the engine block. Once all of these changes were made, I was able to get everything installed. I had to work with IAG customer service, and they got me the extra parts I needed in a timely manner. Car runs much better without air leaks (the old Tomei inlet had torn the compressor inlet adapter rings, causing a leak).

Today marks 4 years of owning the 2006 Subaru Forester XT. As you can see, this car has come a long way from its humble beginnings as a well-maintained 1 owner commuter, to a wagon with STi performance capabilities.

Anyone close to me knows this is my unicorn car. I searched for close to 10 years for a clean SG Forester with the 5-Speed and turbo engine, and every time I would find one, it would get sold before I could even look at it. So with this car I made an unconventional leap of faith and offered to buy it sight unseen and have it towed to me. When it showed up I was pleasantly surprised by how good of condition it was in.

I have replaced many things on this car, some by choice and some by circumstance, but I have no regrets buying it. It's making good power now (somewhere in the mid 300s), handles great, looks great and is my perfect daily driver/weekend track car.

I still have plans for this car in the future, as money allows. But, I am happy where it sits now. Stay tuned to see how the next 4 years go.
