A few months back this vehicle owner came in for an estimate.
Several weeks later they called and wanted to schedule the repair with Dents Vanish.
Upon first look after the vehicle was brought into the shop, the mess shown in the left photos was seen. This was not there when we estimated the dent several weeks earlier. Once we called the customer they stated they had taken the vehicle to have several other estimates completed in the interim and they determined this was done at one of the shops without their consent.
Unfortunately, Paintless dent repair is not a simple as “any technician can do the same level of work”. This was most likely done because the technician looking at the damage was afraid of the large buckle and wanted to see if the metal would move before committing to a quote. While there are different ways to complete a repair and have the end results be similar, this is not the work of a skilled professional.
Sadly, to correct this mess, the customer paid several hundred dollars more than what was quoted before a shop did this without permission.
We spend quite a bit of time fixing each of the pock-marks before starting where we would have had they not been there. The repair turned out great and the customer was thrilled with our repair.
It is very hard to know who to turn to when your vehicle is damaged.
Dealerships spend millions to keep up the misconception that they are the superior choice. Chain collision centers are complacent and treat you like a number in a long line of faceless insurance claims.
Ask questions. Ask for examples. Demand to be treated like a customer who is truly cared about.
