For those under 18 years old coming in to test for the Class D Knowledge test:
-You MUST have your 30 hours of Driver's Education Completed (list of Approved Online Classrooms rev. 10/2025 in the pictures)
-You MUST provide either TWO Primary Documents or One Primary AND One Secondary Document (Most commonly Birth Certificate and Social Security Card)
-You MUST go to the Driver's License Office located at 625 Jefferson Ave after you PASS the test to have your vision and hearing tested
-You will pay $10 before testing

We are a walk-in office, testing is from 8:30am-2:30pm M-F, please arrive by 1:30pm for testing.

Our office now offers walk-in testing for the Class D Knowledge test. Monday-Friday 8:30a-2:30p.

FISHING LICENSING NOTICE
We currently cannot issue fishing licenses due to system changes.
Per MN DNR limits are still in place, but you do NOT need your license until the system update is completed. ETA June 9th, 2026

FYI!

Minnesota DNR's new electronic licensing system launches June 9! 📆

The DNR is rolling out a modern licensing system replacement that is built for today's customers and technology. Phase one of the launch in June will include the hunting and fishing modules. 🤳

The new system offers more flexibility than ever — three ways to buy a license (mobile app, online, or in-person from a license agent) and three ways to carry it (paper, PDF, or stored in the app). 📱

As part of this transition, hunting and fishing licenses will be temporarily unavailable for purchase between June 2 - 8 as we switch over to the new system. During that time, people may fish without a license in Minnesota. All regulations for the season and bag limits will remain in effect. On June 9, fishing licenses will again be required and you will be able to purchase them through the new system. 🎣

Turkey hunters need to register their harvest before end of day (11:59 pm) June 1. They will be unable to register their harvest during the transition/cutover period. 🦃

For now, nothing changes for those needing to register or title recreational vehicles and watercraft. That module of the new system will launch at a later date. 🚤

***OFFICE CLOSED FRIDAY MAY 22ND***
Unfortunately, the office has electrical concerns needing to be addressed. The office will remain open today, Thursday May 21st, until 4p.

We will NOT open tomorrow morning. If the electrical issue is resolved in a timely manner, I will make another post and will be open until 4pm closing.
