As we are sure you saw from all the pictures and videos posted in December, 2024 was another successful year for our Shop With a Cop program. We wanted to extend our gratitude to our sponsors and volunteers.

Without these businesses, agencies, and individuals, we wouldn't be able to continue this fantastic program.

Our annual Shop With a Cop program was once again success! Law Enforcement Officers along with several volunteers from the Knox County area set out for a morning that started with a police es**rt from Pace Community Action Agency to Walmart Vincennes. Once there approximately 100 local kids were treated to a shopping spree for clothes, books, games, and toys of their choosing. The kids also had the opportunity to talk to Santa 🎅 and receivd a small treat from him. Following the shopping the kids were treated to a Happy Meal from McDonald's.

This event would not be possible without our many volunteers and donors who we cannot thank enough.

The Fraternal Order of Police Vincennes Lodge #62 is comprised of current and retired law enforcement officers from area agencies including Sgt. Todd Ringle-Indiana State Police Evansville District, Indiana DNR Division of Law Enforcement, Knox County, IN Sheriff’s Office, Vincennes Police Department, and Vincennes University Police Department as well as Associate Members from around the area.

On Tuesday, December 10th, 2024, the Vincennes Fraternal Order of Police will again be participating in the annual “Shop with a Cop”. The es**rt of students will take place from PACE to Walmart @ 9am. We encourage those who wish to observe the excitement stand along Hart Street or Kimmell Rd. and encourage all those participating as they pass. This year, we anticipate shopping for a little over 100 children and spending approximately $250 per child. After the students are “shopped out”, they will enjoy lunch donated by McDonalds.

Brother Marceaux started a nonprofit called Dream Builders of Indiana with a goal of providing high-quality beds for children in need. Fraternal Order of Police Vincennes Lodge 62 sponsored a bed and a few of us had the pleasure of assisting in delivery to a very excited young man last night. We hope Corey enjoys his new bed! 🛏

Today was great weather for golfing...and an added bonus of a hole in one! Deputy Paul Jones hit a hole-in-one today on the 15th hole during the F.O.P. golf outing. Great job Deputy!

We had our annual Shop With A Cop yesterday at Walmart Vincennes! Shop With A Cop is a program designed to pair up local law enforcement officers with children who get to spend the day shopping for Christmas with a cop! This event is put on with all the help of the wonderful staff at Pace Community Action Agency!

We would like to express our gratefulness and thanks to many many people including the community! We would like to thank the Vincennes Police Department, the Knox County Sheriff's Department, the Bicknell Police Department, the Indiana State Police, the Vincennes University Police Department, Indiana DNR Law Enforcement, Indiana Department of Correction, The Knox County Probation Office, the Knox County Prosecutor’s Office, and the Knox County Department of Children Services.

We would also like to thank the local high schools, Vincennes Lincoln High School, Rivet Middle/High School, South Knox High School, and North Knox School Corporation for providing students who get to assist the officers and spend time with children as well!

A big thank you is also needed for Franks restaurant who provided a delicious catered meal for all of the volunteers from the event! We would also like to thank McDonalds as well for catering meals for the children delivered by the Vincennes Police Department Civil Merit Commission!

We would also like to thank Ewing Printing Company for their wonderful designed annual letter and the Vincennes University Mailing Department for all of their hard work helping us organize the letters! A big thank you to Troy Mischler as well with his help for transporting all of the items!

The biggest THANK YOU though goes to YOU, THE COMMUNITY! Without your twenty-five years of loyal and generous donations, this event would not be possible! Without your help, we would have not got to spend approximately $220 dollars on 148 kids yesterday!

We are extremely appreciative of all of your continued support throughout the years! Thank you for helping us create memories for these children that will last a lifetime!
