š Congratulations to our April Employee of the Month! š
Adam was hired at Matthews Kia of Blakely in September 2023 when he answered a recruitment ad for a Recon position. He had another job offer on the table, but he chose Matthews and Matthews chose him. Since then, Adam has made a tremendous impact on the dealership.
As a Recon Specialist, itās his job to recondition vehicles to LIKE-NEW condition when Matthews takes in a trade vehicle, when new cars are delivered from the factory, or to prepare the vehicle for customer test drives or customer deliveries. Recon includes not only washing, waxing and vacuuming the vehicle but can also include taking off the shipping factory wrap, shampooing carpets, deodorizing and fueling the vehicle. Then add rain and the wintery months in Northeast PA and apply a generous dose of bad weather to the job. Itās a day of hard work from the minute he arrives each day until the time he leaves and Adam does it all with a fantastic attitude that earned him this award.
While his title is Auto Reconditioner/Detailer, the truth is he does far more than just his job title. No matter what needs to get done, from detailing a vehicle, picking up or dropping off parts deliveries, shuttling a service customer, helping with snow removal, cleaning leaves out of gutters, patching potholes, staying late to make sure a delivery is perfect, or stepping in wherever else heās neededāheās always the first to say yes. Coworkers say he is a hard worker with a positive attitude. He comes in early, stays late when needed, is lighthearted and quiet but loves to joke around with everyone.
General Manager Justin Masters says, āAdam represents exactly what teamwork and dedication look like here at the dealership. What stands out most is his attitude. He takes pride in his work, heās dependable, and he understands that everything he does reflects on all of us. Because of that, our team knows they can count on him. People like him are the backbone of a dealership. They may not always be in the spotlight, but the operation simply doesnāt run the same without them. He is greatly deserving of this award.ā
Service Manager John Salinas agrees, āAdam goes above and beyond, always going the extra mile without being asked. He is very self-motivated, fills in for others and is a great worker. He has the makings of a great manger some day and Iād hire a hundred of him if I could! I am 150% behind him receiving this award.ā
When Adam isnāt at work he enjoys spending time with his girlfriend, fishing and detailing his Cadillac CTS.
