ENYO and custom Ahlman Performance Ohlins TTX36 4-way adjustable coilovers with Swift springs. Why are Ohlins TTX’s the only damper choice for Ahlman Performance - Part 1?

After 26 years of working with Ohlins TTX’s in CART ChampCar, NASCAR Cup, and road biased exotic cars the TTX’s continually help us achieve the best performance (steering, handling, grip and ride), durability, adjustability, quality, craftsmanship and value. There are no commercially available dampers that are close.

Scott Ahlman has been working with Ohlins since 1996 and his days in CART ChampCar as a vehicle dynamics engineer for Team Rahal.

How does inboard suspension on Enyo improve aerodynamics?

The slender pushrod mated to the inboard bell crank, coil-overs and anti-roll bar gets these bulky/air disrupting pieces out of the exposed airstream on an open wheel race car resulting in much less drag and a lot more downforce. The less turbulent /less disrupted air creates less resistance and allows straighter and more consistent airflow around the aerodynamic surfaces of the car.

For reference, a 1600 pound IndyCar in roadcourse configuration trim makes nearly 5000 lbs of downforce at 200 mph, which is why they brake at an incredible 4.5G’s. Therefore, aerodynamics is the primary reason inboard suspension was invented on open wheel cars.
