FAILURE OF THE WEEK🔧
This Paccar came in with codes that only showed up when revved. Sputtering, spitting, hard to pin down.

Turned out the tone wheel was loose, which threw off timing under load and chewed up the gear train. Root cause? A single bolt that came loose (or broke) and took out the tone wheel with it.

One loose bolt, a whole cascade of damage. That's diesel repair for you.

Heavy haul truck came in with a stubborn problem: it kept aborting regen on the road before it could finish. 🔧

Here's how we ran it down:
✅ Found and fixed exhaust leaks affecting differential pressure
✅ Found and repaired a fuel pressure code
✅ Still kicking out regen.. so we monitored it running and found the real culprit: a PTO configuration issue
✅ Reconfigured the ECM

Right now it's sitting over 1,000° and holding steady, so far so good.

Hear a whistling or chirping noise every time you hit the fuel? Here's what's going on. 🔧

It could be your turbo going out...sometimes it's rubbing on the side and evens out over time. Or it could be an exhaust manifold leak on your Cummins. Those use metal gaskets, and when they start to go, they chirp and whistle. Could be a blown gasket or bolts that worked loose.
