What’s That Wednesday? 🔍

See the little metal tab touching the brake rotor? Our technician calls this the “infamous tab shim.”

A brake pad shim is a thin piece of metal that helps reduce brake noise. In this photo, a tab appears to have shifted into the rotor’s path, where it can scrape as the wheel turns. That’s one reason a new brake noise deserves a closer look!

Did you spot the tab before we pointed it out? 👀

💧 Rain-X or a similar water repellent helps rain bead up and roll off your windshield.

🧊 When freezing weather arrives, lifting your wiper blades while parked can help keep them from sticking to the glass.

🧼 Clean your windshield regularly to reduce streaking and wiper chatter and help your blades last longer.

🔧 Fun Fact Friday: Did you know what a timing chain repair entails? 🤔

Sometimes, the engine has to come out! Logan is tackling timing chain components on this Toyota Highlander, and reaching them means lowering the engine out from UNDER the vehicle and working at ground level. 🤯

The timing chain keeps the crankshaft and camshafts in sync so the valves open and close at the right time. Replacing its components takes precision—and, in this case, some serious disassembly!
