Hello everyone and happy spring season! If you're anything like me, spring is like a breath of fresh air. Looking forward to getting out and about in nature and doing lots of fishing this year.

Some of you may be considering buying a used car or truck to accomplish your spring and summer goals. I can help you with your purchase. Buying a used car can be stressful because you never know how the previous owner cared for the car. For $75 plus tax, I can do a comprehensive pre-purchase inspection that will alleviate your fears. The inspection includes a test drive, on-lift vehicle inspection, and complete scan of all onboard computers. The inspection takes around 45 minutes and can alert you to any possible hidden problems the vehicle may have. Call (360) 936-9648 for any questions or to schedule your pre-purchase inspection.

Good afternoon folks!

Happy fall! Who else was really excited when it started raining this year? Thought I'd take a moment to reach out and share some news and information with you as we dive into the autumn and winter seasons.

As you know, the wet season is upon us. A few things come to mind during this time. Make sure your wipers are in good shape. During this time of year, batteries will sometimes start to show their age. Make note of how fast your engine cranks in the morning. If it seems slow, the battery may need to be replaced. Interior water leaks will rear their ugly head usually around this time. If you notice fog on the inside of your car or a wet carpet, you may have a water leak. Last but not least, check your tires. The deeper the channels in the tread of your tires, the better they shed water away and give you reliable traction and braking. Thinly treaded tires are dangerous in standing water.

In other news, C.J.'s now accepts payment via Venmo or Cash App, along with the traditional modes of payment (cash, check or credit card). I receive many requests to pay me via these methods so I thought I'd try them out.

As always, thank you for your continued support. I remain committed to providing top notch auto repair at a reasonable price. Stay safe and stay healthy!

Happy Saturday friends! I hope you are all having a fine summer Saturday with the beautiful weather out there. Hopefully, COVID hasn't completely ruined your summer plans. Here at C.J.'s Auto Repair, I have had a busy summer so far thanks to all of you. Despite all the hurdles this year has thrown our way, I remain committed to providing top shelf auto repair to my customers at a price that is fair and reasonable. Please enjoy the following video of my work on a 2010 Dodge Ram pickup with a 5.7 liter Hemi engine. Please excuse my error - I mistakenly call a camshaft LOBE a cam journal. The cam journals were all fine and this truck will get a new camshaft, lifters, timing components and head gaskets along with other minor parts.

Good morning! It has been so long since I've posted. Needless to say, the last two months have been crazy. I am still here and serving you, Vancouver. These are pictures of my latest project, a 2000 Ford F550 cab and chassis that came in to my shop dripping oil badly. It left puddles everywhere. Long story short, the oil pan seal was leaking because a previous shop had tried to replace it in the vehicle. This is next to impossible. So, the cab had to come off and the engine out to properly seal the oil pan. I'm happy to report this once sad, drippy truck is now dry as a bone on the bottom. Also fabricated some custom brackets to mount a tool box on the side.

Got some project that seems too difficult to even attempt? Give me a call. I'm good at that stuff. 😎

Good morning everyone! Hope you are staying healthy and safe during this difficult time. Today, I’d like to have a little fun. I’m putting together a list of all car, truck, or driving themed songs. I know I could google a list but that’s no fun. I’ll throw out three that I can think of and then I’ll let you all fill in the rest in the comments. The songs can come from any genre of music. Have fun!

1. I Can’t Drive 55 - Sammy Hagar
2. Little Red Corvette - Prince
3. Little Deuce Coupe - Beach Boys

Happy Friday to you all. The sunshine feels great. Spring is inching closer. ☀️

I get asked all the time 'what do you specialize in?'. I've always considered myself a jack of all trades, but there are a few areas that I have significant experience in. One of them would be Subaru.

My work experience carried me to a Subaru specialty shop a few years back and it was there that I learned to love working on Subaru cars. One of the most frequent jobs I have ever done is the Subaru head gasket replacement. Below are pictures from a recent head gasket repair that I completed for a customer.

Anyone who's ever owned a Subaru for a lengthy amount of time knows what a hassle this can be. Luckily for the Vancouver area, there's a shop that you can trust to fix it right at a reasonable cost. Call or stop by to get your Subaru the mechanic it needs.

As always, thank you for your business and for spreading the word.

Hello folks!

Happy Friday to everybody. With all the rain here in the Pacific Northwest lately, I thought it would be a good time to address a unique problem with vehicles in this area and that is interior water leaks.

With the abundance of rain and pine needles the drains, cowls, gutters and channels designed to shed rainwater from your car can be easily clogged and overwhelmed. When that happens, the rain has to go somewhere and sometimes it ends up inside the car or truck. Damage from water intrusion into the cabin can range from a wet carpet to over $1000 in damages due to submerged electronics.

I've been an ASE certified automotive technician in Vancouver for 16 years now and have gained unique and extensive knowledge of water intrusion diagnosis and repair. The key to effectively mitigating an interior water leak is to catch it early before a significant amount of water leaks in. Water leaks can significantly reduce the resale value of your car. Once the dreaded "musty" smell starts it is very difficult to get rid of.

If you are seeing water condensing on the inside of your windows or your carpet is damp, it's a good sign that your car is leaking water inside the cabin. You can feel confident that C.J.'s Auto Repair can fix it and save you some money.

Thank you for your continued support and for spreading the word. I look forward to serving you and meeting new customers along the way.

Just finishing up this beautiful car right now. I really enjoyed working on this project. Completely rebuilt front end including ball joints, control arms, shocks and all new brake components. Installed a 375 horsepower 302 cubic inch motor. Rebuilt the rear end with a Yukon locking rear end with 3.73 gears. Also replaced the heater core, installed an electric fan system and installed air shocks in the rear. This is a great example of one type of work that I can do. Do you have an old car that you'd like to see brought back to life? Call me and lets talk. Turn up the volume on this video and enjoy your Friday!
