You just never know what we will find when we start to do a job on any vehicle. This truck also ended up needing a passenger brake caliper. It had a broken piston and was starting to leak.

We tend to have this issue more than one would think. We think a lot of people may be in a hurry and think they will get to it later but time slips away quickly ! When brakes go bad or are worn, continuing to drive can cause much deeper issues. We are able to save some calipers, but there are times we have to install a new one. This can almost double the cost of a standard brake job on certain vehicles.

This Ram is 3 years old and has 80k miles so this is a sad video. This is one of those vehicles you can order on line and have it delivered to you. We were told they had a 7 day window if they didn't want it. They asked us to inspect it to make sure they wanted to keep it and we found dirt and mud and gravel packed all over. In time this will trash seals and corrode wires, just not a truck that will likely last at all and the sad thing is the body and interior was like new. We thought the company that sold it would at least have washed it on the bottom some before selling it. We highly suggest for any vehicle you want to buy, it should be looked at by someone with a lift so it can be thoroughly inspected. This may save a lot of heartache later.

This is a funny one. We all had a good chuckle.

Certain vehicles that are scheduled we already know what the job will be like. Due to history on these cars or trucks a shop has to estimate differently, but if a person that owns that car researches what the labor actually calls for, they would feel they are being over charged. There may be a reason so we explain or show the customer whats going on so they understand. This gentleman was happy we fixed it and it drove very nice.

Lee was at a loss for words lol. This vehicle like others of this situation put shops behind. When you have a 6 hour job and you take it part and realize you have the wrong parts and can't get the right parts until the next day, that in turn pushes the next days cars another day that needs a lift. Getting vehicles in and out on time is a balancing act sometimes. Its hard to explain to people at times why we are behind on there car when we haven't even worked on it yet but when we explain the situation we are blessed people tend to understand.

We had a 2018 ford explorer with a cylinder missfire and upon pulling all the plugs and coils we found cylinder 3 was the worst miss fire. We used a scope to inspect the cylinder to see what it looks like and we found it was burnt and coated with black color from burnt oil and it was low on mechanical compression also. We figured out this vehicle idles a lot and it had a weak coil and the issue with the cylinder happened after the misfireing due to it having direct injection. When a cylinder is not firing the fuel is being forced into the cylinder and it washes the piston rings out and allows the oil to keep past and causes all kinds of issues that can permanently ruin the engine. So when you have a newer car with misfire issues we suggest you fix it sooner than later or it may become a new engine instead of a repair.

Another unfortunate situation where a vehicle was repaired several times yet the root cause was always there and over looked cause its not common but for the future we will remember this. Definitely a learning curve.
