You just never know what’s going to come through the door at Hickman’s Service! 🐾🚗

A customer brought their car to the shop today because they were concerned about a strange noise. Chris and Clint put the car on the lift for a closer look—and it didn’t take long to discover the source of the mystery… a sweet little kitten hiding in the undercarriage! 🐈‍⬛❤️

The mechanics quickly jumped into action, safely rescuing the unexpected passenger and making sure the kitty received some TLC before heading over to Hobart Animal Clinic. 🐾

And the best news of all? This little one has already been adopted! 🏡❤️

Now there’s just one thing left to decide… What should we name this tiny hitchhiker? 😻 Drop your name suggestions in the comments! 👇

Friday's roundabout update.

Hey folks, we are back up and running here and doing our best to get back in the swing of things. Luke's across the street is open and has fuel as are the gas stations on 6 and county line. Stay safe out there.

Thursday morning roundabout round up.

Hey folks! Still no electric here at the shop. We are doing the best we can with what we have. We will be sure to let you all know when we are back up to full power. Let us know in the comments where you have seen food services or gas stations back up as we know some folks are running out of food and fuel. I do know the southlake mall area and Valpo along rt30 has power in spots. Stay safe out there.

Think rodents only invade attics and garages? Think again. This customer's truck was towed in because rodents turned the air cleaner housing into a pantry and nursery—stuffing it with black walnuts and insulation, shredding the air filter, and chewing through critical wiring. This truck is back on the road after we cleaned things out, replaced the air filter, & repaired the harness. A small critter can lead to BIG repair bills. Check under your hood regularly, if you see missing insulation it's a good sign somebody has been visiting! If you see chewed wiring or other damaged components, let us take a closer look & make a repair if needed. We've heard of deterrents like dryer sheets, mint, & moth balls. Have you used any of these or found something else that keeps the critters out?
