This 1972 Buick LeSabre came to us for a cosmetic restoration and received far more than just a respray. We stripped the body to bare metal, cut out and corrected multiple old repairs, welded and metal-finished problem areas, completed bodywork from front to back, then primed and block sanded the entire car to ensure the panels were as straight as possible before color.

The owner chose Bentley Extreme Silver, finished with 3 coats of PPG DCU2021 clear. The engine bay was refinished in satin black, while the underside was protected with black epoxy primer and black Raptor liner.

Now it’s on to the final stage: wet sanding and polishing to bring out that deep, glass-like finish.

After 10 years, Nikole and I are married! I am beyond thankful to have her as my partner in life. Through countless challenges and struggles, we have chosen each other every day.

I am grateful to all of our past customers for the support over the years. You have given us the freedom to have a beautiful life together. We are able to work beside my best friend of 25+ years, and he was standing next to me alongside my little brother and our angel of a pitbull, Jericho. Who has been by my side for 15 years since he was a 6 week old puppy.

If you’ve ever met Jericho, at the shop or on a personal level, you know he is the most loving creature on this planet. We took him on our honeymoon with us, and noticed he was not acting himself.

After arriving home, and settling back into normal life, we took him to the vet, got X-rays and then were forwarded to Med Vet where we have spent the majority of the weekend with him.
If anybody has any experience with liver cancer in dogs, even anecdotal to give us any more good time with him; please feel free to share. We’re still waiting on testing for a clearer diagnosis and prognosis.

If nothing else; please pray for Jericho.

1978 El Camino “Black Knight” Edition metal work, underside and frame work done, in epoxy and ready for bodywork.

Not every restoration has to be a $100,000+ no-expense-spared build, to be worth doing. A lot of people simply want a solid, clean, reliable show car they can be proud to drive and enjoy; and that’s exactly where projects like this fit in.

This El Camino was purchased brand new by the current owners father, driven for years and then sat in a barn since the 90’s.
Once it come to us; we stripped the body to bare metal, the frame was blasted and refinished, the underside was blasted, rust repair on the floor, and epoxy primer followed with raptor liner on the underside. The inside cabin, floors underside of roof ect also done in black PPG dp90 epoxy primer.

These are still massive jobs that take hundreds and hundreds of hours, which is why most of our frame-off restorations with rust repair usually land somewhere in the $60k–100k range all in. Definitely not cheap, but also far from out of reach compared to the idea that every restoration has to become a Pebble Beach-level six figure build.

At the end of the day, every customer has different goals. Some want absolute concours perfection. Others want a clean, high quality classic they can cruise, take to local shows, and create memories with for years to come. We enjoy building both.

This one still has a long ways to go until it’s ready to paint.
Fitment, bodywork, multiple rounds of primer, hand blocking, disassembled and reassembled multiple times, and every piece test fit including all the various trim. That’s all before any paint goes on, and countless other things to do before as well. That’s why we say; the paint is only a very small portion of the process to acquire the fit, finish and detail we strive for.

Sometimes things don’t quite go to plan the first time.. this car has put up quite the fight. This color was designed from a video game rendering by Molly, the previous owner. The way it shifts, the vibrancy and depth could not be achieved by mixing the pearl into the black basecoat. Which is its intended usage. We laid this down as a midcoat over black, so every little bit of pearl effects the color and blend out. I sprayed it once, and wasn’t happy with the color after I pulled it into the sun. I didn’t get enough pearl over my black basecoat on the repair area, so had the faintest shadow at certain angles.

So I sucked up my pride, sanded down the clear with 600 grit and laid more pearl where needed and, scrutinized it harder before clearcoat.
This involved redoing the roof, both rear quarters, driver door and driver fender. Oh and the hood.

Now, it’s absolutely beautiful. I’m very pleased with the turnout of this repair with the difficulty set out. Nikole also did a full paint correction, and it’s just as nice as it left us the first time we finished it.
Moral of the story, is we all fall short of perfection, but if you challenge yourself to do your very best; you can become and produce excellence.

The new owner of the car will be taking it back home with him to Virginia to get it back up and running. We’re excited to see this thing being enjoyed again! 🙂

This 1966 Caprice has been a major project, and still a ways to go. Most of the projects we do are frame off restorations, and this is a prime example of why. None of this rust was visible until we fully took it apart and stripped it all to metal. Even down to the floors. The trunk floor looked to be in great condition, so we stripped the exterior body and loaded it on the rotisserie.

After we blasted the underside and floors, we found big surprises in the trunk floor. Somebody had packed rust holes with body filler, and even did the same to the underside floor braces. We decided a new one piece trunk floor was the best solution. In order to do that properly, we had to pull the body back over to the lift, take it back off the rotisserie, cut out the trunk floor, drop the body back on frame and put the new trunk floor in sitting on its new bushings.

This trunk floor was over 100 pounds and 6 foot long by 6 foot wide. We had to lift it and finagle it in from underneath, and was not an easy task.
After the new floor was welded in, it was ready to go back on rotisserie.
Jesse also had to do some wheelhouse rust repair while there.

Full quarter panels are not available for this car. Only skins, so instead of cutting the quarters off and welding them along the top bodyline, which would be about a 7 foot long weld, Jesse opted to use the skins as sacrificial patch panels for the quarter panels, which worked out great.
When cutting out the rust, we found more rust and repaired that as well.

The underside is done in black epoxy followed with black Raptor liner, inside cabin is done in black epoxy, and frame is done in black epoxy followed with semi gloss single stage black.
After the remaining metal work, it’ll be time for epoxy and onto bodywork.
This is going to be a cool one when it’s done but man; it’s already been a huge undertaking.

This is why we say, the paint process is really only 10% of what’s involved in restoring these cars with better procedures and better products than when they were built.

One thing that will never change with us.
When you call, text, or message the shop, you’re talking to one of us. Not a system, not AI, not automated responses. The world is changing fast, and it’s honestly frustrating how impersonal everything is becoming, but that’s not how we operate. You’ll always get a real person on the other end.

This Nova came in with a tight plan; make it look right, make it last, and make every hour count. Normally, our process is a full strip to bare metal, complete disassembly, and starting from scratch so we can control every inch. That’s what we believe in, and that’s what gives the best long-term result.

But sometimes reality steps in.
With this one, we had to be strategic. Every hour mattered, no wasted effort, no cutting corners where it counts; just smart decisions backed by experience. It still turned out absolutely gorgeous and the best of the best paint from PPG.

Right now, things are just different. Costs are climbing everywhere you look, and it’s getting harder to make the numbers work no matter how much effort you put in. It used to feel like if you worked hard and stayed consistent, that was enough. Now there’s a lot more stacked on top of that.

Cost is the question we get the most, and we understand why. We’re doing everything we can to keep our rate at $100/hour for as long as possible. But material prices and overhead just keeps rising. PPG just went up 20%, and 3M increased 9% last quarter and another 7% this quarter. It adds up quickly, and it’s something we have to work through just like everyone else.

At the end of the day, this isn’t just work to us. We care about these cars, the history behind them, and making sure they’re around for the next generation. We’ve built this as a team, and that’s what keeps us moving forward. We’ve been pushing through for the last 10 years, and that’s not changing anytime soon.

Thank you Dustin for trusting us with such an important car to you and being awesome to work with every step of the way. We are so lucky and blessed to work with such great people on a regular basis.

The LS3 restomod 69 Camaro getting closer by the day! Fitment, body and paint bottom to top, and underside finished in paint matched raptor liner. Paint matched engine bay, and all black painted trim and moldings.

This one is now on its way to the mechanic shop to get brakes, wheels, fuel, paddle shifters, and other various odds and ends.
I cannot wait to see this one finished.

Keep an eye out for the next YouTube video coming soon! 🙂

Thank you Bill Hoskinson for letting us be part of another awesome project! Trusting us with something like this means a lot, but even more than that, letting us be a part of your life and your family’s story means everything.

Nikole absolutely dialed this truck in. She went through a full 3-step paint correction using 3D, spot wet sanded the worst imperfections, and then finished it off with the help of Austin and applied Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ceramic Coating. It is a 5 year ceramic coating, with a hardness rating of 9. The depth, clarity, and overall finish in person is unreal.

We also knocked out a few important details to bring everything together:
-Re-cleared the hood and cowl
-Fixed the wiper motor
-Installed Silverado side moldings
-Replaced the door seals with new Precision seals for a tighter, cleaner fit

And if you’ve been on the fence about entering the giveaway for this truck; this is your sign. Don’t wait around on it. Someone is going to end up with this thing, and it might as well be you!
