A 2.7 5 cylinder diesel sprinter showed up at the shop low on power. I could tell the engine wasn't breathing properly. I was getting ready to put a camera down the intake to look at carbon build up and this is what I find in the intake. Some kind of expandable plug had gotten wedged right in the inlet of the intake. Luckily it was large enough not to make it further into the intake. My only guess is this is someones tool from another shop. That they were using to block a portion of the intercooler system off and left it. Then it eventually made its way up the piping to the intake. With that plug removed the vehicle is back to normal.

Is your 6.7 cummins having turbocharger issues. Setting codes like U010C lost communication with the turbocharger actuator or P003A turbocharger control "A" position exceeded the learning limit. Industrial Turbo International has your fix with their billet actuator with a upgraded motor on them.

Another Ram with a cummins getting the killer grid heater nut removed. Using a black market performance kit that removes the factory grid heater and converts it to a spiral style element.

2017 duramax l5p came in with a fuel knock and misfire. Saw that #7 and #5 cylinders were showing a misfire. One pretty common problem with l5ps are injector connector pin fitment issues. Over time the tension on the connector pins becomes loose. With two new injector connectors this truck is fixed.

Took in a Hyundai Genesis that had a whole list of codes. From 5 volt sensor reference codes,throttle body limited power, etc. All the codes pointed toward a 5 volt reference issue. Measured 5 volts at the throttle body and found only 4.2 volts. Ended up tracking down the issue to a power steering pressure sensor that was corroded. Allowing 5 volts to be pulled down from corrosion bridging to the ground pin.

Is your lb7 or lly duramax not running and blowing the ficm fuse or has codes for loss of communication with ficm. This could be your issue. The older these trucks get the more ficm I see going bad. At one point you could only have yours fixed or buy a used one. Luckily in the last year or so diamond t enterprises now manufacture new ones.

Black market performance intake air heater relocation kit. From 07.5 to 24 6.7 cummins. The heater grid nut can come loose and cause major engine damage. This kit eliminates the factory grid heater and moves to a different style element. So no more killer heater grid nut failure.

2011 6.7 powerstroke. The customer complaint was a popping sound coming out the exhaust. The truck was setting a cylinder contribution code for #1. Did a relative compression on the #1 cylinder and found it was down 25%. I suspected a cracked valve on that cylinder. As you can see in the pictures we have multiple cracked valves on multiple cylinders. #1 cylinder was the only one showing low compression since the crack is so large. Luckily it was caught in time before major damage occurred. This truck will be getting new updated cylinder heads.
