GOOD MORNING
This is our Monday morning recap from Union Dragway and the results of round #7 of Friday nite fights and the State of the Union point series.
Unfortunately, the only winner on Friday was the weather man, the forecast for rain late in the day forced us to call it quits for the day.Having 190 entry’s on the ground makes for heck of a day, with the weather still not cooperating we had a later start time then we had hoped for. After all qualifying was done and a successful drivers meeting and having 89 top eliminator car entry’s it time to go to the the hat to see if this is the week for the $10,000.00 chip ! And now it’s all in the hands of last race finalist Dustin Smiley but that wasn’t before Monty Hall stepped in and to make a deal offering that $7500.00 guarantee. While Dustin’s choice to go to the hat cost him $2,500.00 we decided to offer a little help and an added $1,000.00 making it a pretty good payday for Top Eliminator.
Now onto the race.
Once again in Top Eliminator it was Paul Mosley showing he wants to be the man in Top this year.Paul and friend Darryl Childress opted for the split and quit and the use of a chip toss to determine the winner.Of course I used the $7,500.00 chip just to rub it in ! Paul once again takes home the trophy.
In Modified with 47 entry’s it was all Rickie Dunn over Robert Rayfield in a 8 round battle to take home the bacon and with a 0.1 reaction and to be dead 5 he showed he wasn’t playing!
In Sportsman Dawson Paulely showed he didn’t have the new car blues after getting down to 5 in Modified eliminator then 8 rounds in Sportsman an 0.3 and dead 5 in the final round that would end the day for Dustin Carroll.
In Junior Dragster it took 6 rounds for Rodney Hyatt to find his way around Oakley Humphries for the win with both drivers being dead 3 it would come to 03 to a 04 Reaction time for Rodney to take the title.
In the Gibbs 470 outlaws it was Jonatan Gibbs over Jared Noel in the final round it was a hole shot and a 4.71 that was good enough to take out Jareds dead on 4.70 !
As always I want to thank everyone for the support that make it great here racing here at Union. But most of all I want to thank all of our staff and friends that works so hard here to make every race day possible. We couldn’t do it without you and I do appreciate all you do!
Well its on to round #8 and hopefully another chance at the big chip, can 4 times possibly be the charm for Paul Mosley or will (Monty Hall) once again try a twist? The only way to know is
BE THERE!
