🚨 WHEN A CATASTROPHIC HAIL STORM HITS, DO YOU REALLY HAVE THE RIGHT GUY ON YOUR SIDE?

Let me tell you what having the right person in your corner actually means.

In the last 4½ days, I have personally written more than 100 hail claims.

And when I say “written,” I mean I have:

✅ Scoped the vehicle
✅ Written the estimate in CCC
✅ Documented PDR
✅ Written paint & body operations
✅ Identified replacement parts
✅ Addressed R&I operations
✅ Considered ADAS calibrations
✅ Scheduled customers
✅ Explained the insurance process
✅ Educated customers on what to expect
✅ Helped people understand what happens when their vehicle is potentially totaled

And I'm doing this because when a major hail storm comes through, people are overwhelmed.

Their vehicle may be damaged from one end to the other. They may be dealing with an insurance company for the first time. They may receive an estimate that looks completely different from what an experienced repair facility determines is necessary.

And that's where having someone who understands the ENTIRE process matters.

Your insurance company is not your repair facility.

They aren't the ones who are going to disassemble your vehicle, repair it, calibrate the safety systems, refinish it, put it back together and stand behind the repair.

Their job is to handle the claim according to the policy and manage their costs and liability.

Our job is to determine what the vehicle actually needs to be properly repaired and document it.

So when an insurance estimate comes in at half of what a qualified repair facility writes, DON'T PANIC.

That doesn't automatically mean someone is trying to take advantage of you.

It means the vehicle needs to be properly inspected, the required operations need to be documented, and legitimate differences may need to be supplemented.

That's part of the process.

And this is why I would encourage every body shop and every customer to ask some very important questions before choosing the company handling their hail repair:

👉 Can they actually write a complete CCC estimate?

👉 Do they understand PDR AND conventional paint/body repair?

👉 Do they understand R&I operations?

👉 Do they understand when ADAS calibrations may be required?

👉 Do they understand OEM repair procedures?

👉 Can they identify what insurance missed?

👉 Can they communicate with the customer and explain what's happening?

👉 Can they properly document and supplement legitimate repair operations?

👉 And most importantly...

Do they actually care about the repair, or are they simply there to produce as many cars as possible?

I'm not saying I'm the greatest.

I'm not saying I know everything.

I don't.

But I do care.

I have a passion for understanding the entire process and making sure people aren't left standing there wondering what they're supposed to do next.

I've seen the faces of customers walking into our shop completely distraught because their vehicle has been destroyed by a major storm.

And I've seen that change when they realize:

“Okay. Somebody understands this. Somebody is going to help me through it.”

That little bit of security and hope is worth a lot.

And that's why I don't chase every storm in the country.

I typically focus on 2–3 major storms a year, depending on the size and circumstances.

I would rather give a couple of shops and communities my FULL attention than spread myself across five different storms and try to process as many cars as possible.

Because for me...

It's not about quantity. It's about QUALITY.

It's about doing the repair correctly.

It's about understanding the vehicle from PDR to paint and body, from R&I to ADAS, from the initial estimate to the final delivery.

It's about having someone in your corner who can actually explain what's happening.

And here's the thing:

You don't even have to use me.

If you're a shop trying to figure out how to handle a catastrophic hail event...

If you're a customer who doesn't understand your insurance estimate...

If you're unsure whether something is being missed...

🚨 WHEN “THE INSURANCE COMPANY WON’T PAY” BECOMES A SAFETY ISSUE…

Here’s something vehicle owners need to understand:

Your insurance company can dispute the cost of a repair.

That does NOT automatically mean the repair is unnecessary.

We’re seeing more and more situations where insurance carriers question or deny procedures involving ADAS scans, calibrations, and other safety-related operations because they believe the damage is “too minor” to justify them.

But here’s the problem…

👉 A camera can look perfectly fine and still be out of calibration.

👉 A vehicle can have no warning lights and still have an ADAS system that isn’t properly aimed.

👉 A diagnostic scan does not replace an ADAS calibration.

👉 The severity of the visible hail damage doesn't necessarily determine whether a safety system was affected during the repair process.

At Hail Strategies, we're not willing to tell a customer, “The insurance company wouldn't pay for it, so we're just going to skip it.”

Our responsibility is to properly restore the vehicle and verify the systems we're working around.

If an insurance carrier refuses to pay for a repair operation that we believe is necessary to safely complete the repair, the customer may ultimately be left with a choice:

Pay the difference out of pocket — or accept a repair that hasn't been properly verified.

And THAT is the part that should concern every vehicle owner.

You pay your insurance premium expecting your vehicle to be properly repaired after a loss.

You shouldn't have to choose between your wallet and your safety.

💥 Your insurance company writes the check.
YOU own the vehicle.
YOU are the one driving it.

Ask questions. Demand documentation. And make sure your repair facility is willing to stand behind the repair.
