Your fuel pump has one job: get fuel from the tank to the engine. ⛽️

When you turn the key or press the start button, the fuel pump turns on and pulls gasoline from the tank.

It then sends that fuel through the fuel lines under pressure toward the engine.

From there, the fuel injectors spray the exact amount of fuel the engine needs.

If the fuel pump starts getting weak, you might notice:
• Hard starting
• Loss of power
• Hesitation when accelerating
• Engine sputtering
• Or the car might not start at all

Think of the fuel pump like the heart of your fuel system—if it can’t keep the fuel flowing, the engine can’t keep running.

An engine flush cleans the inside of the engine’s oil system.

Over time, engine oil can leave behind sludge, varnish, carbon, and other deposits. Engine flush helps break down and suspend those deposits so they drain out with the old oil.

Think of it like cleaning the engine internally:

Old deposits/sludge → flush loosens them → oil carries them → old oil is drained → fresh oil goes in.

It can help clean areas such as oil passages, lifters, piston-ring areas, the oil pan, and other oil-lubricated components.

What it doesn’t do is repair worn engine parts, fix low compression, stop serious oil consumption, or magically restore a damaged engine.

An engine mount is much more important than it looks. Its job is to secure the engine and transmission to the vehicle while absorbing engine vibration and movement.

A good engine mount does three major things:

* Holds the engine in position — engines produce a lot of twisting force, especially during acceleration.
* Absorbs vibration — rubber or hydraulic portions of the mount isolate engine vibration so you don’t feel it throughout the cabin.
* Protects surrounding components — excessive engine movement can strain hoses, wiring, exhaust components, axles, and even other mounts.

What happens when an engine mount goes bad?

Common symptoms include excessive vibration at idle, clunking when shifting from Park to Drive/Reverse, a thump during acceleration or braking, and visible engine movement.

If it’s severely damaged, continuing to drive can cause other mounts and components to fail prematurely. One failed mount also puts additional stress on the remaining mounts.

How Does the Camshaft Open Each Valve at the Right
Time?

Inside a running engine, the pistons move thousands of times per minute, but the valves must open and close at exactly the right moment. So, how does the engine know when to open them?

The answer is the camshaft.

The camshaft has specially shaped lobes called cams. As it rotates, each cam pushes a valve mechanism, opening the intake or exhaust valve at a precise moment.

When the cam moves away, the valve spring pushes the valve closed again.

The interesting part is that the camshaft is mechanically synchronized with the crankshaft. In a conventional four-stroke engine, the crankshaft makes two complete rotations for every one rotation of the camshaft.
This precise timing allows the engine to take in fresh air, compress the mixture, produce combustion, and release exhaust gases in the correct sequence.

The cycle is:
Crankshaft → Timing chain/belt → Camshaft → Cam lobes →
Valves → Engine combustion.

All of this happens incredibly fast, with the camshaft controlling the engine’s breathing every second the engine is running.
