After many meaningful years, Run the Rails has officially come to a close.
What started as a race quickly became so much more: a way to bring our community together while giving back to Downtown Union City. Because of your support, proceeds from Run the Rails have made a lasting impact, helping fund projects like a roofing project at the Capitol Theatre, the Merchants Park Mural Project, self-watering planters along the downtown sidewalks, beautiful string lighting donated to Union City Parks and Recreation, and most recently, funds to purchase pieces of kitchen equipment for the ongoing Capitol Theatre renovations.
As we close this chapter, we are also proud to share that remaining funds will be donated to several organizations who have supported this event throughout the years, including the Union City, Tennessee, Police Department, Union City Tennessee Fire Department, Union City Parks and Recreation, Kiwanis Club of Union City, TN, Chimes for Charity, Hometown Walk of Hope, Obion County Prevention Coalition, and Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest Tennessee.
These projects and partnerships have helped preserve our history, enhance our downtown, and strengthen our community in meaningful ways.
While Run the Rails may be ending, its impact will continue to be seen and felt for years to come.
Thank you to every runner, sponsor, volunteer, and supporter who made this event so special. ❤️
