Know that Dealership are not paying very good or excellent conditions of KBB. Dealership pay thousands of dollars for auto pricing and auto trends. If you’re using KBB or any other online source to book out your car, here is a tip:
Book your car under GOOD or FAIR, why?
Because dealership take a big gamble on taking a vehicle off a stranger hand, they can only do so much to make you an offer on the spot. If the vehicle needs lost of repair or maintenance, well they’ll need to make that money somewhere. Now you may have a vehicle with great service records and the whole nine, but dealership know nothing is perfect in this world and even a well maintained vehicle is still a gamble. Your best bet is to book under FAIR and know that that is your best case scenario….
WELL I’LL SELL IT PRIVATELY I’LL MAKE MORE MONEY!
Well, in the long run YES. But even privet party buyers are getting wiser when haggling with a privet seller. 1 the vehicle is not inspected or serviced. 2 will it even PASS SMOG??
3 discounts based on appearance, tear and wear and needed servicing.
4⚠️Then comes peace of mind, buying from private sale is final, you get what you pay for. Know your buyer knows this and will low ball you as much as possible, they don’t want to get stuck with a fixer upper.
There is a lot of pros and cons when it comes to buying and selling privetly. So if you’re time is valuable, call a PROFESSIONAL
