We are proud to be the first in the area to go green and be certified in aluminum body repair. In 1961 Butch Snyder graduated from Vale Tech in Blairsville, PA. He worked as an auto body technician before becoming self-employed and opening Snyder’s Auto Body, in Tylersburg, PA, in 1979. Between 1979 and 1987 Butch expanded the square footage of his three-bay garage shop several times. Robert “Span
ky” Wielock, Butch’s son-in-law, began working at Snyder’s in 1986. It was a very busy year in 1990 when, Snyder’s installed a downdraft paint bake-booth, a paint mixing machine, and a front-end alignment machine. In 1993 he incorporated the business and, also, added office space and another piece to the shop. In 1994 Snyder’s Auto Body, Inc. began selling used cars. Spanky became manager when Butch retired in 2005. Snyder’s Auto Body, Inc. is a direct repair shop for several major insurance companies. They are PPG certified, which means all paint jobs have a lifetime guarantee for the span of the car’s ownership. Butch, Spanky, and their five employees offer complete auto, mechanical, glass and frame work on all minor and major repairs. Snyder’s is AES and MACS certified to service vehicle air conditioners. The auto body shop has full 4-wheel alignment capabilities with Ravaglioli equipment. They, also, offer dent removal and an Allvis upper-body measuring system. Snyder’s offers 24-hour towing with their wrecker and tilt bed. Snyder’s was the first body shop in Clarion County to “go green.” In 2009, Snyder’s switched to PPG Envirobase Waterborne Paint. This switch is the equivalent of removing 18 trucks from the road for every six cars that are painted with waterborne paint. Snyder's was also the first shop in Northwestern Pennsylvania to become certified in aluminum body repair. Snyder’s has computerized estimates, a prep station, and complete frame straightening capabilities.
