Subject: RETIREE'S NOTICE OF CHANGE IN MEETING LOCATION
LOCAL 122 RETIREE'S CHAPTER

August 5, 2014

SUBJECT: New Location for Chapter Meeting

The officers of Local 122 Retiree Chapter would like to advise the members that we have rented a new location for holding our meetings during the months of March, September and December. It is the church hall at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. The address is 342 Chillicothe Road, Aurora OH 44202. Chillicothe Road is actually Route 43. Directions from Twinsburg are: take route 82 into Aurora, at the traffic light at the intersection of routes 82 and 43 take a right turn onto route 43. Follow route 43 and the church is on the right hand side. It has a large parking lot. Enter the hall and not the church entrance.

The reason we had to find a different hall was that the parking at the hall we rented before was not acceptable. Some people had to park on the grass which presented a problem in bad weather.

We tried to find a location that is between Akron and Cleveland. We tried many rentals some wanted as much as $2,000 to rent.

The meeting will be on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 11:00 am. It will take
place at the new location in Aurora. Brother Joe Guarino is having a guest
speaker, Colleen Allen, who is from International Union of the UAW. She has
spoken at our meeting before and she will be discussing matters of importance
for retirees.

All member should remember that this is an election year. This meeting is before the elections in November. We must elect candidates that are friends of Unions. There are too many candidates on the ballots who want to see an end of unions. These candidates have said "unions are too powerful and have pensions that are bankrupting Companies". They are telling the American people "you don't have a pension why should these union members have one". They don't tell them that we fought and gave up wages for our pensions and we are not about to give up any benefits because some politician wants to see an end to trade unions!!!!

See you at the September meeting.

Phil Schmiedl,
Recording Secretary

Paul Jeunette, Chairman
John "Jo-Jo" Ellis, Vice Chairman
Joe Stefanov, Financial Secretary

! Great News!

I just got this from Joe, It's great news!

May 2014
Dear Trust Member,
Medical benefits are important to you and your family. The Board and staff of the UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust (the “Trust”) is dedicated to designing medical benefits and managing Trust assets in a way that reflects its mission – providing comprehensive health care coverage which improves the health and well-being of members. Each year, the level of benefits is evaluated to keep long-term liabilities aligned with the assets.
We are proud of how we have worked with you to find savings and make the Trust stronger. You’ve helped by switching to generic drugs, using preventive services and maintaining healthy behaviors. Many of you have also used Trust programs, such as diabetes education, Medicare Advantage options and routine office visit coverage to help even more. All of these programs help avoid the cost of unnecessary care and provide you with better health outcomes.
As a next step, we recognize the importance of quality dental and vision coverage in maintaining your overall health. That’s why the governing Board of the Trust has authorized the Trust staff to provide dental and vision coverage for 2015. This coverage, pending negotiations with insurance carriers, will be comparable to the dental and vision coverage for UAW retired workers prior to the 2009 bankruptcy process.
This is tremendous news for GM and Chrysler retirees and we wanted you to hear it from us before rumors begin. While we know you may have many questions, details of the dental and vision coverage are still under negotiations with various insurance carriers. This new benefit will not be effective until January 1, 2015. Information about these benefits will be mailed in the fall; therefore, no action is required from you at this time. We encourage you to read thoroughly all of the information that you receive from the Trust and our carrier partners.

THE OFFICERS OF LOCAL 122 RETIREE’S CHAPTER WOULD LIKE TO INFORM THE LOCAL CHAPTER THAT THERE HAS BEEN A CHANGE IN THE ANNUAL BANQUET LOCATION.

CHAIRMAN, BROTHER JEUNETTE TOLD THE OFFICERS THAT THE CATHEDRAL BUFFET CALLED HIM AND SAID THAT THE DATE WE RESERVED FOR OUR ANNUAL BANQUET WAS NOT AVAILABLE. THE OFFICERS THEN DECIDED TO HAVE THE BANQUET AT A DIFFERENT RESTAURANT. WE CALLED THE GOLDEN CORAL AND THEY WERE VERY PLEASED TO ACCOMMODATE US.

WE WILL BE HAVING THE BANQUET AT THE GOLDEN CORAL WHICH IS LOCATED IN MACEDONIA AT THE CORNER OF RT 82 AND RT 8. WE HAD PREVIOUS HAD OUR MEETS AT THIS SITE.

THE DOORS WILL BE OPENED AT 11:00 AM. THERE WILL BE NO BANQUET TICKETS SOLD. THE UNION WILL PICK-UP THE COST OF THE LUNCH. WE WILL ASK FOR DONATIONS SO THAT WE WILL BE ABLE TO GIVE SOMETHING EXTRA TO THE RESTAURANT HELP.

YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO CALL FOR RESERVATIONS BECAUSE WE WILL HAVE A SIGN UP SHEET THAT EVERYONE WILL BE ASKED TO SIGN AND THIS WILL BE THE NUMBER OF LUNCHES WE WILL BE PAYING FOR.

HERE WILL BE SOMEONE WHO WILL BE SELLING RAFFLE TICKETS AT THIS EVENT.

PLEASE ACCEPT OUR SINCERE APOLOGY FOR THIS INCONVENIENCE.
